I don't know about top 10, but my favorite movie of all time (currently) is Albert Hitchcock's "Psycho". It has great atmosphere, great musical score, and a twist ending so well handled that it makes watching the movie a second time have an even creepier feel to it because you see the subtle hints leading up to it.

I am very glad someone else brought this up here. No one I know has seen it and I want them to.
But seriously, The Crow is my favorite film of all time. So many epic bits.
I like the Crow as well. But I find the back story so sad that it can sometimes over shadow the movie in peoples minds. Still very nice to see it represented.

Terminator 2 (my undisputed favourite movie)and the rest in no particular order
Alien
Rocky
Indiana Jones and Last Crusade
Seven Samurai
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Aliens
The Thing

I'm very much into movies for entertainment value, that's not to say I'm uncultured and can't appreciate a film that tries to be more but 9 times out of 10 I want to watch a movie to be entertained.

Honourable mentions go to just about every Akira Kurosawa film there is, Star Wars (the original trilogy) Lord of The Rings trilogy, Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction.

Totally agree with you. I think the entertainment factor can really be undersold by some movie critics. Surely being entertained is one of the most important aspects of a movie.

Damn straight, and don't forget that hat!

I think he often gets overlooked as far as great actors go.

I think because his more memorable roles are genre based, he get given the short stick. But the man has a presence that always glues me to the screen.

In no particular order:

The Warriors
Shaun of the Dead
The Shawshank Redemption
Ondskan (The Evil)
The Iron Giant
The Devil's Backbone
Old Boy
Inglorious Basterds
28 Days Later
Leon (The Professional)

This is really difficult, though. If you asked me tomorrow I am sure I would change some answers. top 25, maybe? I doubt that would even be sufficient. So much to choose from. D:

EDIT: Forgot about Fargo and O Brother. Generally, anything Coen, Raimi, Tarantino, and the early works of Jackson and Romero. Also, although I don't know the names of the movies, some Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton and Chaplin is really worth watching, even today.

It's always the way. Depending on your mood, depends upon what you would deem your favourites. But normally out of the 10 or so there are 5 that will stay there no matter what. Of course this is a completely unscientific theory. :p Damn science always wrecking my theories.
