I like how people makes threads just to say that they don't like a popular game.
It's a gaming forum. People talk about games, whether they like them or not...

So this thread is all about disclaiming any of the CoD games? Right. It has also come to my attention that most people here favours CoD 2. Then please enlighten me why it is better than then the first and the fourth. For me it had neither the true charm of the first and the owerpowered M4A1 SOPMOD of the fourth (I don't hate the game, it's just weaker in my book. Still it is a strong 8/10).

All games made by Treyarch are bastardisations of the CoD series and must be sweppt away.

Ahem.
I loved the game, but I can see why some people wouldn't like it. It's rather arcade-like and unrealistic, so it doesn't surprise me that some people are frustrated by a 14 year old hyped up on sugar killing you from across the map with a pistol while jumping. Also, it didn't really do anything new, it just did it really well.
I preferred it to WaW because the online was much more balanced (at least on the computer, I've heard console auto aim makes certain weapons way to good) and the campaign of CoD 4 was easily the best in the series. I get adreneline just thinking about it. Also, WaW is yet another WW2 game. I love WW2 but it has been beaten to death.
And to you lovers of CoD2, it was a good game, but not quite as good as CoD4. The online had no stat tracking (on the PC) and the offline was just very good, not freaking amazing.
Thank you for ripping out my silent thoughts and stuff it my mouth. Very well done.

What I wanted though, was a post credit sequence back in the UK, where Soap is telling the story to some new SAS recruits or something, and Price comes in on a wheelchair, gets up, and shakes Soap's hand and everyone cheers. Sigh.
Bit cheesy but never the less, rather brilliant.

Not criticising your right to dislike the game but this bit makes no sense to me.

I don't see how else it could work? The quickest/most observant one wins, how else should it be?
Perhaps it was the aiming system, but it only seemed to work one way (as in this person sees me first, and kills me, I see this person first, empty a whole load of ammo and some grenades, and then still get killed).

No, my original post wasn't clear at all.
Yea, I really hated seeing someone and shooting at them, only to have them turn around and kill me with like 2 bullets. Especially when I know they where so close to dying
Yeah I've been there too, but I've been on both sides of that circumstance. I been the one who was killed and I've been the one who turns around and kills the guy with two shots. You two have to admit, it's fun when you do it right?

that just implies you need to play the game more as it involves a lot of skill. sometimes people get lucky but all goods things require a degree of luck

I've only played COD at friends' houses and they just camp so I'm running around for half an hour trying to find someone then I suddenly fall down dead. NOT FUN.
They are good at the game though and I'm not. Maybe if I was playing with other noobs then I'd enjoy it more.

I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. There are much better games for gameplay I think, but CoD 4 is the kind of game you can just pick up and play any time, and can be great fun with friends.

I really liked it, but I can understand if you don't like it. Sometimes the damage in multiplayer is inconsistent, team deathmatch can seem unfair. I liked it for its action campaign and great controls but I wasn't expecting anything revolutionary when I bought it.

If you don't play it, your not missing much.

I liked it too - WaW was boring as hell and there is a lot less balance than in COD4.

I've had some good times on it - and it was mainly those experiences that made it a good game. I still day PC TF2 is my favourite.

Okay realistic me...

I though it was mediocre, and the multiplayer wasn't that great, the level desing for multiplayer was a little bit shallow. I liked Call of Duty 2 much better. SIngle player, multiplayer, the whole shabam. Call of Duty 2 is still the best in the series
I agree completely. I found COD2 the best in the series. Multiplayer on COD4 was okay but wasnt fair at all if you got matched up with people higher ranks than you and as such had better weapons.
You can apply this to WaW, but not CoD4. Three of the best guns in the game are given to you at the first level. M16, MP5, and M40A3. The only gun you could need besides these would maybe be M21 and P90.
^^^^ M16 with stopping power is one of the best weapons in CoD4 if you get good with it. One burst can drop anyone not using juggernaut.

Honestly it kinda sounds like your just not that good at the game. No offense meant, not everyones good at everything. And hell you may just not like it like you said, nothing wrong with that at all. I know people who liked WaW but hated modern warfare, to each his own I guess.
Wait, are you talking to me? If you are, then you must've completely misinterpreted my post in some fashion. Or I misinterpreted your post.
If you're not talking to me, then.. yea.

EDIT: I see who you're talking to now I think, never mind.

hmm COD4 was one of my favourite games of this generation of consoles but WaW couldnt get into that atall

As for the person sees first gets the kill and the i see them unload alot of bullets on them they turn around kill me thing:

online ur biggest culprit would be lagg

offline i would say experiance and possibly screen looking could be where ther gettin the advantage heres a few tips for you:

1. when selecting a weapon go for the p90
2. use aim alot
3. aim for the torso then whilst shooting aim up to the head
4. be calm dont start wildly shooting ... make sure you have the kill... if you start shooting and miss you give them time to react
5. when killed said player where there spawn is very easy to find out usually in the opposite corner from where you are
6.when shooting and you have a clear shot and they havnt seen you crouch or prone and use short bursts
7. if you both run into each other make sure you move whilst shooting ( i find trying to circle them is very effective)

i hope some of those tips help and atleast make some of those games more enjoyable for you to play :)

See, so many people think this way. A good player can easily "turn on" (that is, the act of seeing your getting shot, spinning around and dropping the guy shooting you) someone who has the first shot. Just like good players who have the first shot can by some miracle of God not kill the guy they aimed at.

It's as much a game of skill as any other FPS, it just relies a tiny bit more on reflexes and speed than a Halo or Killzone does. It still requires all of the skills of the aforementioned series though.

it doesent matter if you liked the game or not it will piss you off either way. you are not missing out on anything in my opinnion, every time i play it the game it just makes me mad for one people can shoot through brick walls, seriously what the fuck that kind of eliminates the purpose of having walls if you can shoot through almost every thing so i pretty much hate this game

cant wait for the next one infinity ward!
in the next one you can probably shoot through fucking rocks! woo hoo!

It is a good game but I've come to see quite a few flaws in it and I've also become rather resentful to the massive amount of hype it still gets. My little brother loves the game and he still plays the multiplayer at least four hours each day, it has kind of become bland to a great degree. I also don't like the fact that in a game that takes place 60 years after WWII and even after sixty years of weapon improvement and innovation the best tactic is still just lobbing grenades randomly hoping they'll kill someone. No matter what mode of the multiplayer I play this repeats itself to a distressing degree.

As for the single player, it is a great experience but it is way too short and even the AC 130 and All Ghillied Up missions get way too old after awhile. I prefer the campaigne of COD2 to all others, it had a great epic feel to it and quite a few memorable moments like when you and your Comrades must climb through old pipes to reach your objective, defending your position during a night attack in the desert, or holding a certain hill desperately hoping you'll get to cover before the German artillery barrage resumes. These are some of my greatest memories in an FPS, which is quite the statement.

I'll at least check COD:MW2 out if only to see the changes but I'm not desperately counting the minutes till its released.

Its not that, its just that when you shoot someone in the back thery should die. Not be able to spin around and have a chance at winning.
I don't know what guns you use, but if you're behind someone and they don't have Juggernaut or know you're there, it should be an ee-zee kill. There are a few exceptions of course, concerning luck and recoil, but I reckon a combination of bad luck, lag and a poor experience has put you off a good multiplayer experience.

As for WaW, it's actually a very good game in its own right, but it suffers from taking one step forward and two steps back. Brilliance like Nazi Zombies and Co-op or Competitive Co-Op, and a revised assist system are welcome improvements from CoD4, but then vehicles, relatively mediocre maps or missions and a brutally thick return to WW2 make it a heavily flawed gem.
