If you want realism try ARMA 2 ... however, be prepared to not instantly be blowing crap up.. you must make it to the battle field and hopefully back. Plus you can blow buildings up and stuff. A sniper bugging you on a building? Just C4 that SOB heh.. take the whole building with him. Also, alot less kiddie whiners on the mic which is nice. But this is only if you like realism. At least in that game, when you get picked off from a mile away, you have an idea of how it happened, or you realize that oh yeah, maybe I should try advancing behind cover...

I personally loved COD 4 and though everyone has their own preferences I still think that the "the one who sees the enemy first wins" comments are unjustified. if someone has a gun and sees you when you don't see them you die and if you can't hit them that means that you are not as skilled as the other guy (btw seeing as some of you could fire an entire clip at the enemy and not hit, try aiming instead of shooting from the hip. if you are, then try aiming for the head).

I bought COD4 about a year ago. It's still been unplayed since the day I got it. Never really got inspired enough to play it despite liking most FPSes in general. Probably not a fault in the game itself since I've got plenty other games I've yet to play. Just got too many to do and COD4 just isn't that high in my games to play list at the moment.

i agree with this, it's not a bad game by any stretch, the graphics are ok and it does a good job of showing how good fps war games can be, it's just not the sort of game i am really into.

p.s. Welcome to the escapist! the muffled screams you hear are just loud rats

I liked it too - WaW was boring as hell and there is a lot less balance than in COD4.

I've had some good times on it - and it was mainly those experiences that made it a good game. I still day PC TF2 is my favourite.

When I first played Call of Duty 4, I actually hated it. First of all, I'm not big on multiplayer. I don't go out and buy games simply for multiplayer. The one thing I hate most about COD4 is the health system and how easy it actually IS to die in multiplayer. It's freakin' cheap! But I think it all depends on what you want in a game or what you go into a game expecting. It took me another try, but the more I played it, the more I actually grew to love it. COD4 has a decent story, with an impressive narrative, competent gameplay, but overall, I think its strongest point is its presentation. The game has a FANTASTIC narrative and presentation, in my opinion. But I can whole heartedly see why some people don't like the game. As stated before, I can't really stand the game's multiplayer, because it's so cheap and too easy to die. Even easier than in the single player mode.
