Welcome to the Earth.

I suggest shaving your head, it will save you the trouble of tearing it out later.

Tell him that his right to prefer something ends where yours begins. Also tell him to take his head out of his ass.

I suppose he may have misunderstood your comment as being racist, which would be a really idiotic thing to do given how it rather clearly wasn't. Don't let people like this bother you.

I know, sounds wierd. That being said, there are some (men and women) where the skin tone is just so close that it really is hard to tell where aureola ends and normal skin begins.

That can be a perfectly valid thing to say.

"I prefer Twilight Saga"

"Well you shouldn't"

This is the best thing I've read all day, week, month, and a significant portion of the year. Thank you.

What a Knobhead!
That's all I can say?

That's just petty and childish that he refuses to associate with you over something like that. If anything it makes him look like a racist.

I would just like to point out the hi-fucking-larious dichotomy going on here:

I've read many a thread here on the Escapist by many random members complaining that they can't seem to land some dimwitted **** or that they're stuck in the "friend zone" or some other boring, 15-year-old lame-ass nonsense.

"I'm a totally nice guy and I've always helped her with her homework and I listen to her complain about her boyfriend and, well, we don't really have anything in common, but I think she's very pretty and we get along okay and blah blah blah blah blah."

Here's the problem:

She PREFERS to date people who spend more time in the sun than basking in the glow of a PC monitor.
She PREFERS guys without neckbeards.
She PREFERS guys who bathe and brush their teeth on a regular basis.
She PREFERS guys who have some moderate amount of self-respect and security.
She PREFERS guys who might know more about literature, a decent place to grab some dinner, film, music, or picking out a good bottle of wine, than they would know about the dev team at Valve or Square.
She PREFERS guys who don't watch cartoons made in some foreign country.
Etc. etc. etc.

Inevitably, these threads always turn into:
"Dude, she doesn't know what she's missing."
"Dude, just forget about her. She's obviously stupid."
"She must not have very good taste in picking guys."
"I feel your pain, bro. If someone would just take the time to get to know us, I bet they'd be surprised at how much we can blah blah blah blah."

So, after spending countless threads bashing people for their preferences, it's come full circle in support of people's personal preferences. Does anybody else find this just a LITTLE, TEENY TINY bit ridiculous?

If I announced that I preferred girls who weren't fat and gross, the gross fat girls that frequent the site would be jumping down my throat, claiming that it's guys like me perpetuating some shitty stereotype or that we'll never progress past our current level of sexism with guys like me still around (which is totally probable...)

If someone announced that they PREFERRED not to see homosexuals making out it public, they would automatically be branded a homophobe (which is also totally probable...)

So, no, I will be the one person who does not support your preference, if for nothing else other than consistency. Chances are, one of the several guys reading this will write one of the "I can't land this girl because she doesn't prefer guys like me. What do I do?" threads that always seem to pop up. And, inevitably, everyone here will hate her for her preferences.

God damn, I need my own LoveFAQ article...

TL;DR: Trying nailing a black girl. Or a fat girl. Or a dude. Whatever. You just might like it, and you may even realize that your preferences amount to exactly dick.

OK AdeptaSororitas Sorritatas, lesson 101 in confrontational resolution. Not the way to do it:

or (wow, people are very judgemental about being judgemental here [I know, I know "welcome to the internet])

Well, you get the point. Just try talking to the guy and explaining your preference and that everyone has that preference. You could even drive it home by asking him what the skin tones are of all of his previous sexual partners and whether or not all of those pretty much line up.
If that doesn't work ask him about his type. If he has certain physical traits that he prefers, like hair style, then that's no different from a preference for skin colour, which is also just a physical trait.
Remember, just because you prefer one skin colour, doesn't mean that you automatically hate all others, but in the end a tolerance for another person's ideas is something that we all have to learn in our own time.

P.S. I liked Bulbasaur better.

P.P.S. I really thought I should point out that you may want to rewrite "then he has to to do", which otherwise made me laugh, but otherwise would make me cry.

Very well done and I'd almost taken your point completely seriously, but there's only one thing left to say: the poll's creator is a women. Good night.

P.S. Go for the article writing. I like your style.

I noticed, and fixed most of the stuff. I think. Maybe.

Also, it was mostly directed at the people writing in the forum, not necessarily the OP.

Don't listen to him, he's a racist. Next time you see him and if he gives you shit, just say,"Not taking advice from racists." He may have thought that you don't like girls of other races with darker skin. If that's the case, then he's assuming that you're talking about race. That makes him a racist.

People get far to easily offended... When it comes right down to it, he is offended by your choices. Society has cultivated this feeling in people that when they are offended about something, they can demand that you stop and conform to their ideals, and fuck off if you're offended by something they do because by god they are the ones who's feelings are important.

The entire politically correct bullshit that has touched everything is a byproduct of this goddamned selfishness.

Really just tell him to fuck off and worry about his own damn business. If he is so offended by your sexual preferences or any other damn thing then he can lock himself in a closet.
You're talking nonsense. People have a perfect right to just choose to not talk to someone who has made a choice they disagree with. Oh boohoo, people are using their freedom to influence you. Sorry, freedom entails allowing people to be free to apply certain societal pressure if they wish. He didn't demand that she stop and conform. He chose to remove himself. I disagree with him doing so in this case, but it's BS to pretend it's not a fair tool to use.

I mean really, he did fuck off. He chose not to talk to her anymore than he had to. She asked him about it. You're being absurdly offended about someone disliking your opinion. They're just as free to dislike your opinion as you are to have it. It's hypocritical to try and protect your freedom to have an opinion by complaining about their freedom to have an opinion about yours, when all they did was decide to not associate themselves with the person in question.
Yanno I don't think I worded my post worth a shit, I tend to do that, but I get some of my point across. I'm not saying the guy screwed up, he did the right thing by steering clear of the OP, but more often than not they don't.
I'm also not trying to claim any one persons opinion is more valid than others, some of this rant carried over from my thoughts on the teacher punishing someone for saying they like light skinned people. It similar principle, but that is a perfect example of people taking their opinions and freedoms to far. In this case, the guy in the OP was fine.

When this post started I thought it would be about how everyone seems so outraged by this but you swung it in a completely different direction.

It's shocking how people seem so offended by this person's (who none of you bar the op know) opinion. There's a beautiful kind of irony in this thread.
Also missing my point but is my own fault for posting this here and not the actual thread that sparked this damn tangent.

I tend to get really pissed when people start throwing PC all over the place, trying to say you can't say black, you can't say gay, or anything else they pull. I'm not in any way offended that people get offended about shit, but it pisses me off to no end when people start forcing changes on a societal level to remove the things they don't like. That is limiting freedom. I mean look at how society functioned in the Greek and Roman eras, and how stupidly conservative they became during the Renaissance, and we are finally starting to come back from that, and people are trying to drag us back into ultra-conservativeville.

But whatever. This is not the right time or place for this rant, and my tangent is making me look a fool.

I love pale skinned women. <3

I also loved my Native American ex.

Your preferences are your own, offer no apologies.
