A Star wars babies kids series? This is just depressing if anyone needs me I'll be in waist deep in Yahtzee's heroin.

Well, I can't hate him. He gave us flippin' Star Wars, after all. Yeah, he made some shitty movies recently but HE GAVE US STAR WARS!!!

BTW, this is a series aimed at kids. We're not even anywhere near being the targeted age group, so why is anyone over the age of 6 getting upset? No one complained about the Marvel Super Hero Squad, and this looks to be the same concept. Not everything Star Wars has to be aimed at us geeks.

Yeah, seriously, just because he's not catering to YOUR every desire doesn't mean that he's lowering himself. You aren't the only audience in existence, you know.

Time to pretend I never saw this and move on with my life as if the world is the wonderful place I imagine it to be.

Shit is still shit. Even if I market it towards dung beetles. My core demographic.

Like I said. Thank you. And Welcome to the Escapist.
However..."The diaper is full with this one" has to be a line.

So he wants to make a kids series? Big deal. Let him. It's not targeted toward us.
Exactly this. Enjoy what you love about the series and forget about anything else. I liked the movies, all six of them, and enjoyed the battlefront, force unleashed, and lego games. So for that I'm happy with George Lucas. Why not let the kids get in on the fun too.

I do get feeling upset because of a perceived personal attachment to the series in general, but its sort of chilish in my opinion.

Nothing he made after the original trilogy exists.

In all seriousness, this is just wrong. How can one person do this to a series that he made? It's like killing your own child and throwing it in a dumpster.

Exactly. Let him do what he wants.

I don't hate him, I'm disappointed in him. He made such great films back in the day, THX 1138, American Graffiti, and of course, the Star Wars series, perhaps the most perfect film trilogy there is. All that talent, all that drive and energy and effort, gone. Now he's just another bland director with an oversized budget.
If you want to get technical (and boy do I ever!), Lucas only directed the first Star Wars film (widely considered by Star Wars fans to be the weakest of the original trilogy) - in point of fact it was the last film he directed until 1999 (Star Wars came out in 1977), the year the near-universal loathing of Lucas started, because the film that prompted him to take up the director's chair again was The Phantom Menace.

You just listed all the good movies the man has ever made in his entire career as a director Furburt, and all of them date back to several decades before you were born. Looking at his latest efforts, one can reasonably conclude those films were good by accident.

Why, if he is so anal about "his" universe being so damned canonical, is he so intent on wrecking it? I don't care about this or anything else he does frankly. The first series was horribly overrated, the prequels were not so bad but nothing special. In fact the Holiday Special was the best film of the bunch just because it was kind of a laugh.

Interesting fact about Lucas - he doesn't have a neck. His head has just grown out from between his shoulders.
