There are a lot of people in this thread wondering exactly why people think this is funny. This is how people's brains work:
1) People laugh at others pain, including you, and you know it. Remember that time when your friend tripped on the [insert object here] and fell over? Remember how you chuckled a little? this is just one of those dickhead human things we do.
2) Comedy happens when your mind is surprised. Whats normal? A woman getting raped. A woman being overpowered by a man. The opposite is abnormal and surprising. Cue comedy, cue laughter.
3) Detachment makes everything funnier. Most people say that comedy = tragedy + time. Time is just the simplest way of detaching from something. That's why people make jokes about horrible events, because they aren't attached to whathappened. A couple other ways of detaching are distance (from your house to bumf*** nowhere, Russia is how far?) and the involvement of the internet (because there are totally reasons to attach yourself to any random dumba** on the internet).
and 4) there is this idea that bad things should happen to "bad people," no matter how disproportionate. Guy cheats on his wife on an airplane, then the plane goes down and he spends a week up on donner summit in january. No one really cares, He had it coming to him. This is the same thing, just worse.

Most of will probably say "Well I just dont think any of these things! Im so perfect." You do, just not conciously. You might not even think any of these specifically, but a derivitive, something close. And thats all your subconcious needs to be an asshole and get you to laugh.
So, posters, its not that specific people are douchebags, its that the human race in general is hardcoded to be a bunch of douchebags and some just have better control than others.
More on topic though, I laughed at the beginning, sobered up for a second to realize that's terrible, laughed some more afterwards because its just too f****d for me to want to process, and now I'm starting to hope that chick drops the soap in whatever gulag she gets stuck in, because that would be some karma.
