I would rather be a rock.

A cloud.
I could just float around peacefully, occasionally striking people with lightning.
But you'd get hit by planes and people would curse your grey colouring when they saw it, as it is the harbinger of rain.
I would welcome him for blocking out that nasty sun character.

As for what I'd be, I have no idea. Maybe an electron. Or a mountain.

I have heard of this "Sun". I hear tales it has appeared to few throughout the land of Englande and granted a curse upon their heads, such as they turn red and cause great pain.

Oh, not that lot, that would be a bit unfair, don't you think? ; D

I'd want to be a Roc if I could ( Woah, pun not intended actually! O: )

In case you don't know what the mythic Roc is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roc_(mythology)
Being a Roc would be totally badass. Whenever I feel bored I could go down to the city, pick up a bus in my talons, and make a nest out of it. Bus-Nest FTW.

I'd prefer to be a house-cat. The kind of house-cat where your owner doesn't give a shit what you do as long as you return to the house every three days for kibbles. And I could mercilessly toy with mice before ripping them to pieces and planting the carcass in my owner's bed. According to cat specialists this means I'm presenting a gift to my owner, but it's funny as hell to watch them discover my rotting food in their sheets.

Wow, I'm one sadistic bastard.

if i could choose any other form of living, i'd be a palm tree, just standing out on some totally deserted island, just fluttering in the warm breeze, enjoying the sun and the warmth

I'm going to say a flower, because it'd be relaxing to just bask in the sun all day and be tickled by the bees, then close back up at night until the next day.

Of course, there are occupational hazards...
hmmm interesting, would I still have my personality and my fears in my new form? if so, flower is definately out! I am terrified of anything that flies, is generally yellow and or black, and has a stinger on its arse! (bees, wasps, hornets, etc)
I would be a Gold Great Wyrm Dragon! or Draco! I would use such power to help people and share my dragon wisdom! or if I have to be a real and existing animal/object, a komodo dragon, as I have great enthusiasm for dragons!
or maybe a swarm of asian giant hornets! being a hornet might help me overcome my fear of them.
as for an inanimate object, I would be a suit of full plate mail!
