If it rained in RL as much as it does in Witcher 3...

... there would soon be no land masses left on the planet. It would be like that Kevin Costner movie.

...that's nice?

If my sport teams won in real life as they do in my video games, my Vikings and Wild would win every year. The Timberwolves probably would too if basketball wasn't super boring so I don't play it.

Fuck the Twins still. Although I never get through the entire season in a baseball game (holy smokes there are waaaaay too many freaking games in baseball) so I guess that's not a factor.

There are places on Earth where it rains 300+ days out of 365 days a year. That's 82% rain uptime.

And yet, here we are, all landed up and everything. I wonder why (Not really, of course. I payed attention in high school).

Maybe my city would know how to drive better in the rain...

Oh, who am I kidding? They'll probably forget that it's raining anyway...

You did know that rain is already existing water drawn back up into the atmosphere are rained back down?

It is not newly created water, if it were then your logic would be valid.

Well, I see I've been beaten to it twice in the "you would be in England" stakes.

So instead I will say that that would require the sudden shut down of evaporation and an atmosphere many times greater in volume than the one we currently have, or any number of changes that would fundamentally alter the ability of the world to sustain life. But then it wouldn't be the world IRL. Basically, there isn't enough water stored in ice & atmosphere to do that. Even if every drop of ice on the planet melted and flowed into the seas and then somehow the atmosphere went to 0% humidity and all water was present as liquid in the oceans it still wouldn't happen.

Look, I know it was a joke, but I still had to get that out there.

Isn't it supposed to take place in eastern Europe?
That rain is so terrible it effectively shutdown the Blitz, what'd you expect?

I haven't played witcher 3, does the rain have anything to do with the storyline?
Nope! The game just throws storms at you constantly to show off its swaying trees, rolling grass, and wet-surface effects. I don't mind it at all, it makes every ride through the countryside look very dramatic.

More reason for me to play this. I love rain, but prefer not to have my land masses destroyed, so I stick to rainy games instead of toying with weather machines.

Yeah come to the UK and say that the amount of rain in The Witcher 3 is "unrealistic".

I mean, in CDProjekt's defense, it does look really good.

Don't be silly. "Because it rains so much here in this region of the entire planet we're all going to drown."

No that's not how this works.

There are extremes all around the world.

We have places that are extremely dry almost all year around, and desert's the size of countries, and we have places were rain and snow is a constant factor.

Are you playing it on PC? If you are and the rain bothers you so much you can download the debug console mod and enter changeweather(WT_Clear) to make it sunny or just stoprain for the obvious effect.
