If The Escapist Was a High School...

Since I discovered reddit about three months ago, I've avoided this forum a lot of the time, only checking up occasionally and usually not posting because it usually seems terrible.

So, the analogous high school position is, I'm at uni. Which I am, coincidentally.

The forums have been a bore recently and I haven't seen one of these goofy threads in awhile, so here we go!

If The Escapist was a high school where would you figure into it? Would you be a naive freshman, the lead football star (USA! USA!), the school psychologist or perhaps the janitor? Would you be a player, have a high school sweetheart or be forever alone? What kind of clique would you fit into and who would you consider to be your enemies/rivals? There are a million ways you could describe yourself in this theoretical situation, so I won't even try to list them all off here. Have fun!

Suppose I'll go first... I'd probably be one of those class clowns that most teachers don't actually mind all that much. I'd be in the market for a rebound (or several) as I would likely run against Daystar for class president after a nasty breakup we'd obviously have to go through. As for a clique... I'd probably be a drifter who plays D&D with the nerds at lunch, but enjoys small talk with the cheerleaders after a game.

I'd act very confident and awesome in front of my fellow students, but in reality I'd be somewhat insecure about how others view me and sneak away to the councilor's office frequently to get some sound advice. I'd always campaign to make every school event cat-themed. Also, if I lost the prom king vote I'd probably steal the mic from the principal and start berating everyone for their insolence!

I'd probably be on the football team, since I like playing it anyway. I was the go to guy if someone had a problem, everyone wanted my advice, but no one took it.

I'd be the Neutralist, same as I was in high school. I'd get along with everyone, make friends with a variety of people, share many interests that span from sports, music, writing, reading, etc., participate in clubs and other school activities, and generally make the most out of the time that I'm there.

One thing that would be more present now than during my high school years is that I would approach more women and generally attempt to get a relationship going with a woman that I am generally interested in.

Probably how I was in high school.

That goth chick that wasn't part of the clique and just hanged out with people and cracked dark humor jokes. Be one of the people that ran the chess and Magic club and have possibly do tournaments, which almost happened a few times now that I think about it.

When I did work at schools, I was the one lots of kids came to for advice...

And the one the popular kids hated, because I called them on being assholes and kicked them out of my library all the time. ... It wasn't always warranted, but I just didn't want them in there on principle, because I'm still bitter about my school years and am taking it out on kids young enough to be my own children. So I'm kind of an ass.

Then again, I totally bent over backwards for the geeky and socially inept kids. Always made a point of talking to them and asking about their interests and getting them to help me out behind the desk.

So I basically did everything I wish someone had done for me, and became the librarian I always wished I could have.

I wouldn't be popular, per se, but I would have a solid group of friends. That's such a boring answer, I had quite a lot of friends in my teenage years but we were all in different schools in the same area.

I'll think in terms of the fantasy Escapist high school, I want to be one of hose stereotypical American bullies.
