If there both identicle, how do we tell which one is which?

"Im putting my money on A"
"Which one is A?"
*blank stare at realization...*

The one controlled by a player. The AI bot dies.

OT, this isn't thought-provoking discussion, this is a flame-war starter. There's nothing to this question. (F**k you Captcha I can't make an umlaut!)

Computers do have to take into account a chance for probability mechanics. If you've ever played a chess game of two computers, you'll see that they're not always identical.

That one wins!
*points at robot on the left*

Reasoning:
Because I say so.

NO ITEMS, IDENTICAL ROBOTS ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION

I'm guessing if one manages to get a lucky punch in or something at the right moment that'll turn the tides.

I suppose it'd come largely down to luck
assumedly they'd attack in exactly the same way
it'd just be tiny variations in the minutest physics that would determine who'd be destroyed slightly before the other one

if they actually are identical, does it matter?

I guess it would go pretty much like the ending of Farscape episode "Eat Me":

"How are they doing?" - "Still tied..."

If it's absolutely, totally identical, they'd both hit each other with the exact same killing blow, theoretically.

I'm going to say that in this case, the audience is the real winner. I mean come on, we'd get to see two robots fighting it out over who thinks who is the fake.

I don't think they would even start fighting. Like you said, they have the same AI and programming, so if RobotA attacked, RobotB would start to counter it perfectly. But RobotA would see the counter and stop the attack. I think we have a War Games situation here, eventaly they'll relise the only way to win, is not to play.

If both are EXACTLY alike, then both will act EXACTLY the same.
No, i dont think they would. Because AI does have some form or randomness to it. One would have to start the fight in order for they to be a fight.
