If yahtzee left the escapist...

Yehtzee is the reason i started coming to The Escapist however i do enjoy it but it would not be the same with out ZP.

As a lot of people have said, i first came to the escapist because of yahtzee but would not leave if he left because of the other great video series, im looking at you unskippable and top 5. If yahtzee left some people may leave and the amount of new escapists oming to the site may slow as well but the site was here before yahtzee and it will be after him.

Used to be he came in second place, but since Yahtzee gradually lost his edge, Bob is now the first guy I visit. So without Yahtzee, only Bob. And then I wouldn't really care if Yahtzee did leave.

I wouldn't mind personally. The only thing that would bother me if it left was extra credits, and that's because i'd have to arrange a party.

Meh. I initially came here because of ZP but to be honest my favourite stuff here is Extra Credits or anything done by the LRR crew. If Yahtzee left I think a very small number of people would leave, and there would be a very small drop in the amount of new people coming, but it wouldn't be that big a deal.

Escapist would have dramatically reduced traffic. For all us here that are constant users yeah we add a lot of money to the site through ads but I wonder how much extra traffic the site gets when ZP comes out. Actually whenever the videos of the week are released the site bogs down to horrible levels.

Not sure what they pay ZP to stay here but I expect its competitive money.

Edit: just to add without the influx of new member members constantly refreshing and without the daily traffic the escapist would have a bit of a gap in their revenue stream. They probably would throw more ads our way to make up for it or cut their staff. Niether would be good but I really don't know about the ZP daily traffic. But just look at all the people that came her for ZP from the beginning, myself included.

He said he makes a living off of it and he's opened a bar in australia so I think its pretty good. he wants to open more I think too.

I dont expect Yahtzee to go on forever, maybe he'll just slow down or stop eventually but it's up to him. I respect whatever decision he'd make there, I've enjoyed his reviews and it would be sad to see them stop but I'd rather that than have it prevent him from having a life.

QUITE a few people would never have come to the site in the first place. What, you think people really come just to chat with other misanthropes about Yu-Gi-Oh and answer that question that has been knawing at our souls for so very long: "Your left index finger is a gun. It just went off. What did it shoot?" and to feel the sense of collective wonder as every last one of us realizes that the thing we did shoot was in fact a keyboard?

uhhh ok then perhaps I didnt word it correctly

alost of people came because of ZP but some people might stay because theres other stuff here (like the idiotic forums)

that said yeah alot of people might leave there wont be as many new people

but for me and others like me things wouldnt change

ZP is great, but I wouldn't quit coming here, I like the forums and a lot of the other content, however, I think they may feel a reasonable drop in new signups, as I'm sure many people came here from discovering a youtube episode of ZP.
