I'd stick around. I rather like the forums. And the weekly issues are almost always worth reading.

Although if Extra Credits went with him...I probably would visit here much less often. It just wouldn't feel like the E without those two.

Movie Bob, Extra Credits, Loading Ready Run, the fourms... these things are greater in mass than one semi-funny game reviewer who's routine is getting old.

I think people came here for Yahtzee, but a lot of them have stayed for the site.

People will leave, sure, but not a huge amount

The escapist would lose ALOT of its appeal.
I would still stay because this place gives great news and the people on the forums are generally nice, but I would still lament the loss of the thing that brought me to the escapist in the first place...
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Considering most people who visit here only watch his video and don't post on forums I gather it would cripple Escapist's traffic something awful, but it would definitely not cause the site to close down or anything dramatic like that. There is still plenty of content here for a smaller audience.

I'll admit, Yahtzee is the reason I came to this site, and at first he was all I cared about. Now, I see the errors of my ways. If he left, I would be sad, but I'd still visit this site every day. It has good information, fun stories, and the forums are fun and interesting.

I don't know how much longer I would stay if he left, because he's always been the anchor, really, that has kept me here. Don't get me wrong, I love other features on the site, but Zero Punctuation is such an integral part of my reason for being here.

The site would definitely lose a fair bit of traffic and new members - but other than that I doubt I'd realise.

Honestly, I'd stay at the Escapist, but also figure out his exact address and stalk him until he either tells me if he's doing anything at another site, or breaks down and desperately fires a bazooka that shoots lemons at me.

He did about triple the users at the Escapist though, and most are there just for him. Honestly, there's other great stuff here as well- Extra Credits, MovieBob, LoadingReadyRun- or you could watch the older stuff, like Doraleous and Associates, or Doomsday Arcade.

In the end, however, don't ever, EVER leave you sweary, Marmite-n-BranstonPickle-loving, dick joke-making, professionally-trolling, fast-talking, trilby-wearing, Australian-based, British, beautiful-stallion-man-of-whom-I-go-green-with-envy-at-discovering-his-job-is-to-cuss-out-games-he-doesn't-like-and-make-funny-pictures-for-a-living.

Put that all together, Mr. Crowshaw, and it makes MnBPldjmptfttwAbBbsmowIggweadhjitcoghdlamfpfal.

Back to people who are actually reading this comment, please disregard any comparison to beautiful stallion men and remember the sharp wit of the Yahtzee. The bastard.

(Seriously though- I'm not bipolar. And I'm not gay, just a little jealous.)

Don't get me wrong. Zero Punctuation is the flagship, but it's not the appetizer, salad, side course, main course, and the rest of the whole meal.

I, myself, am also a fan of Extra Credits and (occasionally) The Big Picture. I also frequent the forums from time to time.

It'd lose a lot of my support, and I wouldn't frequent it as much, but it certainly wouldn't drop dead, I think.

This right here.

Even so, I do like a lot of the stuff the LRR crew do, and MovieBob's segments are good, especially The Big Picture, not to mention the forums. Thy're one of the most significant parts of the Escapist. The heart that pumps life through the site.

As much as I love Yahtzee, I come here mainly to find about new things going on in the world and join/read interesting discussions. I reckon most people here do as well but I think the Escapist wouldn't be as popular since Yahtzee is kinda like a mascot here, a lot of people are here because of him.

well sure not as many would come and quite a few would leave

but there are those of us (such as myself) who come to this site for reasons other than ZP such as Moviebob, extra credits ect and in my case the forums (Im on the forums so much I dont notice ZP all that much)

so in other words we would still hang around,

Sure, Yahtzee may have been what brought me to The Escapist, but if he left, I'd still have LRR. Now, if LRR left along with Yahtzee, I'd be gone.

The escapist still has LRR, Extra Credits, Escape to the Movies & The Big Picture.

Unless all of those are leaving, I?m not going anywhere (though I will visit other places for ZP)
