For non-realistic, I'll go with:

For realistic, a pair of these:

Can't go wrong with an energy scythe and two punching daggers.

In terms of legality, wouldn't mind yomping around with a crossbow.

In terms of...Slightly less legal...I'll just post what I did in my last post.

For a plausible weapon, I'd want a cane-sword or a machete.

Less plausible, I'd want a bunch of lariats of different uses and sizes, preferably some non-lethal stunners, a few razor-wire, and some explosives.

The Painkiller.
Or Sasha, "It cost four hundred thousand dollars, to fire this weapon... for twelve seconds"

MPi-K. The East German copy of the AK-47. It has such a cool vibe. It was on the front lines of the german separation that was a cold war of tension.

Shotgun (12gauge). Reliable, versatile. I know of no other weapon that is as interchangeable. Put in one kind of cartridge and you're set for combat, another for hunting fowl, another for hunting larger game, another for breeching doors, another for non-lethal combat. The only caveat is the short range.

If we're talking fantasy weapons I'll say the hammer of Thor just because I feel like it and I'm assuming wielding it would confer godly powers upon me.

Edit: On second thought the (I think this is what it was called) possible sword from The Scar by China Miéville.

A good strong Recurve bow, With poisons for the arrows
And a Sizable knife to fletch new arrows with,
I'm Not sure about the poison But the baw and arrows are legal,

Unplausible would be Flaming arrows that I Could reuse,

I'd keep fletches, nocks and extra string in my satchel

For a realistic weapon, I would have to go with a brick. You know, those things that they use to build walls and stuff? You can't go wrong when you are heaving a couple of those around.

Break some faces!

If I were to choose a more unrealistic weapon, I'd have to say the cannon that Tristana uses in League of Legends. It never runs out of ammo, fires continuously, has the capability of rocket-jumping, and looks oh-so badass.

She wants to shoot something!

Real - Desert Eagle
It's big, heavy and impractical for any form of distance shooting, but considering that I spend most of my time in the city where the chances of me needing to defend myself from someone that is any more than 20 feet way is relatively slim to non-existent, the old desert eagle would be eminently suitable. Not to mention that about half the time I probably wouldn't even have to fire it anyways as the mere sight of it would be enough to scare off most of the people looking to cause me trouble. You can know all its weaknesses and failings as a practical weapon, but I guarantee that if someone pointed one at you your reaction would consist of flight or shit yourself.

Decidedly less than real - Undecided

An AR-15 built to my specs. (legal to open carry in my state, but I haven't EVER seen anyone openly carrying a rifle outside of hunting/shooting.)
my buddy has one w/ a grenade launcher attachment and licensed for explosives, as opposed to just teargas or w/e. Oddly he had to get the explosives license to get the non-lethal projectiles you shoot directly at ppl.

OT:
I've always been a fan of the duel wield. Double swords on my back using a single sheath allowing for one sword to be drawn upwords and the other down simultaneously. And probably double hand guns also, .40 cal

unrealistic, mini-gun on a tri-pod

pure fantasy... not sure... probably Lich Kings sword from WoW... come on ability to harvest souls for my undead army

Legal and Real: A three sectioned staff. I did a little martial arts but I am still deadly with a good solid staff in my hand.
Illegal and Fake: Ikkaku Madarame's bankai (for those of you who don't know, it is from Bleach). I mean how badass was it?

I'm partial to polearms. If I ever had to use a weapon, I'd pick that.
For the practical weapon, I'd have to go with a bow, since I have taken classes for using it. :)

Practical weapon? SCAR-L, because it's one sexy gun.

For impractical/fantasy weapon, the hidden blade. It'd be fun to sheath and unsheath all the time.

I'd rock a Kel-tec PMR 30.

I was going to say a Five-Seven...but really, many 9mm's can hold 17+1 and the 9x19 is a better cartridge anyway. But THIRTY +1? No, nothing comes close.

(And anyone who looks it up and goes "durr it's a .22" look closer, it's a .22 magnum and I guarantee it would put almost anyone on the ground with one shot. Hell, most people would go down from a pellet rifle.)

TheTaco007: I don't understand why you'd let politics control you like that. Like or dislike things for their own merit, not because your political party de-jour said so. That's called being a moron.

Fantasy weapon?

Sonic screwdriver. 'nuff said.

EDIT: I don't even carry a pocket knife so I doubt I'd actually carry a hand gun...but the sonic screwdriver, I would bring that EVERYWHERE.

I would have a falcon, then I could be all like "FALKE! NIMM SEINE AUGEN!" Im not sure why I have to command the falcon in german, but i'm sure it would scare old people.
