If you could create a Fallout Vault experiment, what would you do?

I would do some superhuman experimentation in my vault, either genetic engineering or cybernetic augmentations or both. Maybe even see which group survives if the vault was plunged into a civil war.

Apparently I never posted in this thread? Impressive, I say. Okay, time to get to work.

Vault X

You see, it is inconceivable that the Enclave wouldn't set aside some really good places for themselves. They BUILT the Vaults. Seems silly that they'd be living in just a bunch of little bunkers. So, I present to you Vault X, located three miles underneath Fort Knox. I don't need to tell you how tight security is topside, because it's only gotten tighter than pre-war standards.

This Vault isn't a test Vault, it's a Vault designed to do what it was meant for: Survival of the species. In addition to that, this is the main weapons plant of the Enclave. Want to know where the Vertibirds, plasma rifles, powersuits, and so on are coming from? There ya go. Actually, I'm surprised that nobody thought of this one before me. The Enclave is suppose to be the American government. Why WOULDN'T they sit on all the gold in the country?

But this is where it all comes down now. After at least a couple times following inept leaders, one of the strong in Vault X decided to take charge, calling himself Number One. Who is Number One? Well, since this isn't The Prisoner, I'll tell you. The reason this guy is better is because he's the Pip-Boy! The little cartoony character that's actually playable in Fallout Tactics! AND HE HAS ALL THE PERKS! ALL OF 'EM!

So basically, this is the villain Vault, probably the hardest to even approach, especially now that Liberty Prime was nuked. That's the trouble with dealing in the Enclave. They're the government. And if our government is any indication, this one has numbers and it has the technology.

I would preserve a sizable population so that when the radiation died down ,we would have some chance of forming a good sized settlement. Not to mention housing enough equipment to try and get the land green and healthy again, mean a wasteland can't support us forever.

A vault run like 1984 where the people who rebel are let out of the vault and where everyone is told that that they´re actualy on a spaceship.

I would convince the population the Overseer was watching their every move with cameras installed everywhere that didn't actually record anything. There would also be a large, loyal, well-armed security staff to keep order. See how long everything kept running smoothly when people believed they had no privacy, even in the bathroom.
