Whoever looked at Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (I know it probably isn't one person who did this, but for the sake of this post, we'll compile all those involved into a hypothetical being) and said "We have a great, high quality show here, that innovates in the genre and really deserves our adoration. Fuck that shit, cancel it and crank out some Simple Life."
(*several years and many unlearned lessons later*).
"Hmm, we have another great sci fi show, this one based on a classic movie franchise. It has quite the devoted fan base, too. Let's fix that. We'll put it on hiatus mid season, then move it all the way over to the Friday night death slot. And once we're done with that, let's cancel it on a cliff hanger. I clearly do not get paid enough."
You, hypothetical sir or madam, are my candidate for deletion.
