If I saved the Prime Minister (the Canadian version of the President), I think I'd ask him to step down. He's a right-wing conservative, and he's managed to finagle his way into maintaining power even though a majority of Canadians have shown they don't want him in charge.

That said, there's a serious dearth of OTHER choices. I love the fact that a multi-party system exists in a country where over half the population lives at one end of the country.
