Well you could say the same things about gears 3. gears 1 was shooting bland looking aliens with big generic guns (few exceptions like the torque bow), and gears 2 was just more of the same. do you really belive that gears 3 will make any significant changes to the formula at this point?

Even if they didnt I still loved the formula. Considering it tended to be a very flexible formula.

I seriously feel no difference when I play Call of Duty (or any other run-n-gun) compared to Halo. Execpt COD has a good story, and the weapons dont feel like their made of plastic, and rather than just smack people repeatably with the end of your gun, youd get knife.

I like Gears campaign and Co-Op. Can't stand the multiplayer though. I love Halo everything so that would be a much safer bet for me.

I would go for Reach myself, but then again, I've played and enjoyed the Beta, and I've never cared for Gears of War, it suffers way too badly from severe testosterone poisoning for my tastes.

So... Yeah, I'm largely biased here, so my opinion might not matter much here.

I'd have to say Reach. I know it's multiplayer will be supported and played by a large community for a long time which means more entertainment value.

Anyone who thinks Halo: Reach is doing anything new and interesting is deluded. It will be the same boring run n gun shooter with what? Jetpacks etc? Jesus Bungie are so fucking devoid of ideas they are ripping off Volitions (a far superior developer) Red Faction Guerrilla multiplayer. The only difference is its FPS rather than Third Person... Oh and Red Faction had destruction Bungie 0 - Volition 2.

Now for Gears... What can i say, what a piece of awesome. Gotta hand it to Epic, being a big fan of Unreal over the years, i did not think they could make a huge departure from twitch shooter awesomeness. I was gladly wrong. The world and story they created is quite amazing, the Gothic architecture is fantastic. Not forgetting the whole back story of it. At least it is fleshed out a bit, unlike Halos weak storyline.

Bah i dont care anymore. Im tired and the footy is on soon... Gears is my choice, quite obviously...

I loved halo when I first played it on my xbox, so Dont think I'm biast or anything. And I actually enjoyed ODST, considering it changed a few things and had great music. (Okay,I'll give halo that, it has an AMAZING soundtrack)

I would rather get Killzone 3 over Gears of War 3.

Why? Simple reasons, really. I enjoyed Killzone 2 more than Gears 2. I'll pause a bit so you can take that in. Also, Killzone 3 has jetpacks, which make any game instantly more awesome. EDIT: I'd even go so far as to claim that Sonic '06 may have been somewhat playable if they gave the hedgehog a jetpack. Tails doesn't count.

Halo: Reach has jetpacks, space lasers, the Metroid hand pound invincibility thing, and newly revealed: space battles? Yeah, apparently Bungie got so fed up waiting for a new Star Fox game that they did it themselves. That better be a matchmaking mode. I haven't been able to blast people online in Arwings in years.

You have around 7 months to get the money to pre-order Gears 3 after you get Reach, so why don't you save up some?

Do this. Saving $10 a month isn't that hard to do, heck you can put a little more than a quarter a day in a can and have it by the time it comes out and not miss the money.

After Halo 3 I fell off the band wagon for Halo. I don't know why but I just don't enjoy it anymore.

Gears of War I enjoy more because it is something different for me. I normally play FPS but an occasional Third Person Shooter with a whole lot of blood is nice.

Reach, I just have never been able to get into Gears multiplayer (too many people rolling around with shotguns) but I love Horde mode but I would rather have reach.
