Only characters that are in relatively normal clothes but still recognizable. My best example in general media would be the Heath Ledger Joker, but without the coat and for games Serious Sam. I could pass it off as both cosplay and just a bit eccentric wear for the former one.

I usually do steampunk instead. My only cosplay was Steampunk Cobra Commander last year (no more cosplaying with masks). I usually avoid anime/game cosplay, because a lot of those outfits weren't designed for the real-world, but I might do default male Hawke this year because he looks exactly like me.
