i did that in a lot of games but most notable was resident evil 4 because i did it then to raise the difficulty. I went through professional mode quite a few times without selling a single one of the extra items you find laying around like some art collector.

Having been gaming since before puberty, this habit has been drilled int my brain to the point that it's about as intuitive as circle-strafing. Needless to say, it's a hard habit to boot.

I also do it so hard that when a mook that deserves such firepower actually shows up, I usually have enough ammo to take down him and three more of him. The only case in which this doesn't happen is the crapshoot 'super-hard' difficulty that only a few games still have (like ME2; NOT having the M-920 fully charged left me quaking in my boots whenever a Praetorian showed up).

Someone tell me, please...do I need help, or harder games?

I do that all the time. Everything from the tactical nuke in World in Conflict to certain rare resources in various RTS games right down to SCAR ammo in Crysis.

Quake 2.

The last boss was spent under something stupid like 10 minutes of invincibility, 2 hours of quad damage and 20 minutes of enviro suit.

I never needed any such items in the game because being such a scary and OMG3D game, I played it as a stealth shooter. It turns out the left/right hand option on the (rather powerful) default blaster lets you shoot around corners and very rarely take on an enemy before the last boss headon.

I'm doing the same thing right now in Fallout 3. I'm keeping my huge stash of laser rifles in case my primary laser rifle needs repairing, despite the fact that I have a plasma rifle now and never use the laser rifle... But I might need it later...

This is the reason I still have my 4 ds's.
1 original with a broken screen and nonfunctioning triggers
1 mario kart edition with broken L button and messed up touch screen
1 lite with the top screen barely hanging on by the wire's, but otherwise functional
1 crimson/black lite in perfect condition
I might need the first 3 for parts or something, you know?

I'm a hoarder... Oblivion was the first game I'd played that had inventory limits like it has (not just a limited number of slots but things having weight) and actual punishment for wandering into people's houses and taking stuff. I'd previously been of the FF/adventure/puzzle RPG school of 'pick up every single thing you can just in case', and I was overencumbered and in jail within about five minutes. I still have to remind myself I have no intention of becoming an alchemist with this character, I honestly do not need all these flowers and apples and stuff.

I do this alot with summons on FFX & FF13. Im always liek "But there will be a bigger enemy after this, i know there will!" We know how unfair FF can be with bosses.

I get like that with grenades and potions lately, I'll use the weaker ones, but save the stronger potions and more lethal grenades like a Mofo, I once use 2 stuns to kill a dude in MW2 rather than just sticking him with a semtex.

Yeah, I do this a lot in Fallout 3, specifically all of the big guns. I did find them generally useless. I mean I got along fine with only using a small arsenal of small guns. [small](Lincoln's Revolver FTW)[/small]

This was an exception on the final mission and the Broken Steel DLC, though. I went crazy with the Tesla Canon. That was fun. :D

Ever single game. I stockpile the most useless nik naks. Fallout 3 prevented me from doing this sort of as I would have to trudge all the way back home to dump my stuff. But yes this happens far to much for me.

This happens with me and nearly every game Ive ever played, where applicable.
In fallout3, In my entire life ive always horded mini nukes... only ever TWICE used.

and that masterball has it's rightfull place on a collectors shelf... (to be equipped and traded with another one of my games :D)
.. ... ... and with that, anyone else feel almost embarrassed to use their given masterball?

I read an article about this once (think it was on Cracked), it's apparently human nature that we hoard things xD

We keep useless items just incase they're needed later, and lose a lot of potential money.

It makes sense sometimes though, in FF13 i fought the urge to hoard and sold 2 useless items. Turns out these 2 useless items were the only 2 that would of come in use later on.

through each of my playthroughs for fallout 3 i only used mini nukes about 3-4 times, partialy for needing them later partialy for them making behemoths WAY too easy, i had one playthrough were i stockpiled the shit out of 10mm rounds, .32 rounds, and took out the one in the capitol building with just a 10 mm pistol and a hunting rifle with no V.A.T.S., MUCH more fun
