Wow,
Where to start...If your under 15, your parents bought you a mic and an M rated game, and you ***** and complain over the mic in a squeaky, chirpy, cracking voice you should have your voice-box ripped out by a team of oxen and rusty tow chains.

The other thing is, children are retarded. No matter what country, race, religion, creed or background. They just are, and they should not own a mic or an M rated game. They should be playing with legos and puppies or something. (The big legos so they dont choke)

what's the problem, If you get an idiot on the mic just mute or kick them.
I personally dont want to fuck around while Im playing a game.
Or rather fuck around whilst I'm fucking around.

Kids under the age of 14 should not have M rated games ESPECIALLY microphones in the first place. It should be a law, punishable by having their feet beaten with bamboo rods, along with their parents/guardians and coupled with whoever sold them those things.

You shouldn't be playing shooters at that age to begin with. It says so on the box.
Pfft why is he gonna be scarred for life?
no because its the law retard
also because the grown ups say nasty words and little jimmy might hear some and start saying them to look tough and manly and his mom and dad who spent money on the little retard might not like hearing him say them.
you need to go socialize with something that isnt a bible or paranoid parent
I would be totally fine with this bs if the parents had the balls to beat there stupid kids and thats all they really need but there are such pussies that they give in to getting the little retards M rated games that they forget that 5 year olds are not meant to see someone get there bodies turned inside out. the same reason you don't let 5 year olds watch SAW its rated M for a reason

and btw there is no god if there was a just and loving god we would have died off a long time ago before the human race got this damn stupid
So after seeing these 'boobies' you think that these ignorant little monsters that'll believe anything cuz there are young and innocent, will become the next Osama's?
yes they are clearly smart and never believe any lies there parents told them about santa and the easter bunny

Here's the bottom line, I won't quote everyone but as for the maturity levels? it varies. I'm a teenager, when I have a Mic it's used to coordinate with my teammates or talk to friends over XBL.

As for those who are angry kids are playing M/R18+/16+ rated games:The fact of the matter is that most parents can't be bothered to look at the rating of the videogame the child is shoving towards them for them to buy or perform the superhuman feat of turning the game case over and looking at the content listed that earned it an M or R18+ rating.

When children are exposed to content that they aren't prepared for or shouldn't be viewing: It's the parents fault as much as --scratch that-- moreso than it is the child's. If a child (or teenager) wants a game, they'll try whatever they can to get it, even if that means lying to their parents. The parents have the right and the responsibility to say no if they don't want their child viewing graphic content
I must ask, what kind of content can one not be prepared for or shouldn't be viewing? I was given a book on human reproduction at age 5, so I have known that kind of stuff since then, and I'm actually allowed to look at Playboys and see nudity in movies, and my parents have always been of the mindset that fiction won't warp your mind, so I've been exposed to violence in fiction since I was 5. I'm not messed up by any of this, so I'm slightly confused as to how one could be.
That was your parent's choice and you certainly have a point there. Although when you think about it what a child is prepared for or should be viewing is still defined by the parent's opinion. If a parent doesn't want their child viewing excessive gore or nudity then it's their responsibility to ensure the child isn't.

I can already see you're not going to last. Calling people retards, calling everyone retards, plus the fact that it isn't the law.
well it is the law you have to be over 18 to buy a M rated game unless you ***** enough and get mommy to buy it for you then it falls on the parents being stupid and buying the kid the M rated game

As others have said as long as you aren't whining and screaming i don't mind, i'll probably mute you anyway but as long as i dont have my ear drums burst by your screaming before i realise your mics on i dont care
Also i'm underage too so i shouldn't really be saying this(been playing gta since like 12-) but don't moan since your 5 years too young to be playing it anyway :p

Ahh, I wasn't taking parent opinion into account, I was taking the actual mental state of the child, whether the parent was in denial about it or not.

Weird, I buy my own games and am not 18. I live in the US and buy from Gamestop, but they (GS) don't care. So, what was that?
1. taking into account at how many public schools keep having to bend over backwards to get kids to pass classes and the drop out rate somewhere around 50% I think its safe to state there mental minds are just as stupid as ever
2. I've seen a lot of kids turned away here at our gamestop for trying to buy M rated games I dunno maybe different states have different laws they all just go get mom or dad to say its ok so it really doesn't stop them at all

I understand where you're coming from. But I think it's kinda like anything else in the world. The minority screws everything up for the majority. All you need is a small handful of kids with mics saying crap like "I just ****** you up Ni**** That's right Bee-otch I F***** killed you." and when they get killed thy start crying "You piece of S#!* you F***** cheated I'm gonna come back and F*** you up!"
Then everyone else playing can't help but think..."Those god-damn kids. I wish I could put my hand through the mic and choke the living hell outta them." or something along those lines or worse lol.
But hey if you're cool about playing and not an a$$hole punk. Then you get 2 thumbs up in my book!!

however annoying i find game ratings (im 16) i realise that they are just a blanket rule to not create an "oasis of maturity for the adults to play in" (because this clearly does not happen) but to act as a cover for game companies so that they dont get sued for selling games to the one or two mentally unstable children out there who are gullible and cause a tragedy. the columbine massacre was said to be one of those but the children in that had a violent history before that so claiming that games had influenced them is pure stupidity (also a game companie made a game of this incident just look it up which shows insensitivity as well as immaturity on the group of people who made this game). on top of that you also have the problem that is widely less reported due to how much less media attention it drags up when its adults that kill people beacause of video games.

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/05/man-spends-six-months-plotting-murder-of-counter-strike-rival/

this one just shows a lack of restraint on the persons behalf and another case like this in sweden as well

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4137782.stm

if you look at me as well i play games that are above my age rating like GoW2 or L4D1/2 and do i shit myself in bed every night because of nightmares or want to go on killing sprees?.
as well as the fact that i joined a clan at 13 where the average age was somewhere in the regions of 20 year olds to where there main game was battlefield 2142 (which age rating is 16+ if remember correctly) and passed their recruitment phase which was 3 months long shows that i have maturity and proves that there isnt an immediate switch that goes off in a childs mind that goes "ok from now on i'll be mature".

one more point to add (sorry if im just reitterating what someone else has said here) is that i think its all to do with obvious differences between the person who is being annoying that the person who is being annoyed (trying to differentiate you from the aggravater) and socially alienate them because of it. the most common ones being

"its because he's gay"
"its because he's to young"
"its because she's a girl"

from my experience its these that are most commonly used (not against me ofc). they have a failsafe as well when they cannot differentiate themselves from them and say fall back on the old favourites of mum jokes and saying that they are a noob. its these people who bring in these stereotypes are the ones who are not being logical and therefore ignorant.

although all this looks pro lets bring kids/anyone else in then i'll just say this. if you are going to insult/kick them (which i rightly advise) because they are being douches then go ahead just be sure to kick them for their actions and actual being then to what you think they are and generalise it across everyone who is similar in physical traits.

p.s. sorry for the wall of text that i have left

p.s.s. one of my favourites generally as a counter for being called a noob is to say (especially if im at the top of the leaderboard) look at my KD then yours and see who is the noob (or if they are just blatently being shit and have a negative KD just say that they need to get a positive one before they say anything to anyone else) that usally shuts them up unless they are blatant trolls and as to quote someone from earlier "doing it for the lulz"

Alot of people these day's play multiplayer. And i'm pretty sure we all have our story of some fourteen year-old(or younger) screaming in his mic about you actually killing him. This doesn't really bother me much, considering there is a handful of adults who can't coup with this either. But for some reason, adults have started to tell me I shouldn't play multiplayer because children ruin the online experince. Now, before I go on, I am fully aware that most american children are idiots, and that most idiots have mic's.But just because they are massive idiots, doesn't mean I am, so don't put me into this spectum of idiocy just because you feel like it.Some of us can handle ourselves without a cell phone and the Internet. We mostly live in Arizona.
I am 13 too
and yeah youre right, most of us are idiots, but I am near-certain I'm not

but I dont get why you made this a thread
