I don't think ANYONE expects them to be lacking in kids/teens. The game was made for those mature enough to handle it. The ESRB/PEGI/Whoever are the ones to brand it with a number presumably picked out of a hat.
This is the attitude right here that peeves adults. This kid believes he knows everything and ignores wisdom passed along by elders. So you automatically know better then the manufacturer themselves. If they determined it was rated M, then you as a young teen should not be playing it and your parents are horrible by buying you things without researching them.

i actually meant experience in life and being able to handle people's arguments better.
Expeince in life has told me experience in life means nothing quite a few 'old' people are unwise. Also the point of an argument is to argue your view which is what we both are doing maybe you should learn to handle other peoples arguments better too, ey?

so your view is that you care about other people hating you for being 13. and that it matters.
my view is that you shouldn't care about people hating you for ignorant reasons.

tell me if i missed something.
(and not all old people have ''experienced'' life, also today's life is far from the life they led, 80 years old people in particular)
No you are mistaken. I never said 'that's all that matters you are putting words into my mouth and last time I checked hating somone over there age comes under the 'ignorant' group.
*sigh* if you care about something. it matters. where am i wrong?
nevermind that actually maybe we should just stop this conversation.

Alot of people these day's play multiplayer. And i'm pretty sure we all have our story of some fourteen year-old(or younger) screaming in his mic about you actually killing him. This doesn't really bother me much, considering there is a handful of adults who can't coup with this either. But for some reason, adults have started to tell me I shouldn't play multiplayer because children ruin the online experince. Now, before I go on, I am fully aware that most american children are idiots, and that most idiots have mic's.But just because they are massive idiots, doesn't mean I am, so don't put me into this spectum of idiocy just because you feel like it.Some of us can handle ourselves without a cell phone and the Internet. We mostly live in Arizona.
Please put spaces after the full stops it makes it much easier to read.

OT: We don't mind if some is under 13 or whatever and they act mature it is when they are immature and under 13 or whatever then we don't like it. Yes adults can be immature but the voices have a bit more bass which makes it tolerable(joke). Seriously though as long you act mature no one with half a brain will care what age you are.

I'm thirteen as well, but I don't play online multiplayer. You want to know why? That exact reason. The only online multiplayer I'm interested in is TF2, anyway, and that's all about teamwork. I have a moderately deep voice, considering my gender and age, so I'm not afraid of people hating me about the mic. Frankly, I don't want to drag down a team, and with my limited online multiplayer experience, I'm sure I would. And then you'd all be pissed at me.

we won't hate you unless you give us a reason to. we don't hate all 13/14 year old gamers...just those who have proven themselves as dicks.

As a younger gamer myself (14), I feel where you come from. Almost all the time, I use my real age on forums and such, be it indie games or mainstream games, and I catch a lot of flak for it sometimes, people saying I'm too young to understand the message of the game or somesuch (on the indie game forums, of course) or just being somewhere along the lines of "Lol noob."

It is annoying, but, hey. If you find a few that can respect you, you're set for as long as they stay alive.

My major problem is if the game is M-rated why are you playing it, and why are your parents letting you? I don't mind children in T games or E games, but when I play an M game I'm expecting to be playing with people closer to my age (20).

In reality I don't mind, but I do get annoyed easily.

I understand where some people are comming from when they say age doesn't necessarily mean you will be more mature. The fact is though that the percentage of adults who are mature compared to immature is a lot higher compared to kids.

If your mature for your age then your in the minority, its sad I know, I was born in October so I was one of the oldest in my year back when I was in school and one of the most mature. It used to get on my nerves how immature some of the other kids were in my year but its something you have to live with.

My experience of kids online has been good, I game on the PC though and I have seen what the kids on Xbox live are like with videos on Youtube.

13 Year old eh?
I'm 14 now but I've had a long history of playing videogames ranging from FPS games RTS games and RPG games.
I played Doom and Diablo when i was around 6 and about two or three years later i played Star craft. I also played the original final fantasy game and warcraft 1 & 2. I haven't got into multi-player games until recently but I was never use to talking while playing a game so even when i got a Mic I never used it often.
It probably helps that I don't have a very high voice (Years of eating dry cereal?)

im 15, i just dont tell anyone. and that, my friend, is the secret to not being hated in multiplayer :p
Amen. I was 13 when I started playing Ultima Online. I never told anyone my age, because I knew I'd just get shit for it. Back then, most people didn't have microphones, and voip wasn't very common, so my voice didn't give me away.

Socially speaking, your voice is like your text, people will judge you for it. If all your forum posts and chat messages are a horrible mess, people won't pay much attention to you. When people don't know you, they judge you with what little they have, be it your prepubescent squealy voice, your ugly appearance, or your incapability to form a coherent sentence.

But on the other hand, if you're 13, adults will treat you like a child. May or may not be justified, but most people (including myself, sadly enough) won't be able to take a 13-year-old boy at face value, because to an adult, you're just someone else's kid.

So.. yeah. If you can, try to make an impression before telling people your age.

Ha I have to agree with you.
But I have to say no matter how mature you are now you've probably done something foolish when you were alot younger. One time when my brothers took a break from Diablo II I got on and continuously summoned skeletons ( he was a necromancer) I was 4 i think but it was fun and I didn't know what I was doing.

I just don't speak to randomers on the mic, no one complains that I'm 'squeaky', and I don't complain because I don't get shouted at for being 'squeaky'

Arizona? Isn't that the place where they were going to stop you from teaching if you had an accent, and where you MUST always have or papers on you, and if you don't and a cop pulls you over, you're getting deported?
OT:It's not just that mics are annoying. Games that require strategy such as MAG are usually messed up by little kids going in and trying to kill everyone.
