In The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, why is your character being led to his execution?

S/He broke societal laws that serve no purpose and tried to demolish a few castles after they were prevented from living as a hermit. They're into the whole Anarchy/Total Freedom scene. Oh, and they also have tastes that are most distasteful to the other people of Tamriel, they experiment a lot. But I have to admit it was a bad idea to try necrophilia in Mournhold. How did they get arrested in Skyrim, you ask? Well after fleeing Morrowind, they had a bit much to drink. Accidentally burped their first Dragon Shout and killed the whole tavern. Was so shocked they didn't think to run from the guard.

My character was the victim of an attempted rape by two drunken men. She used her assassin skills to easily dispatch them, then casually returned to the pub she was in (she was quite drunk, so her judgement wasn't exactly sound). Unfortunately for her, the two men were also members of the city guard, and she was the last to be seen with them alive. Her case wasn't helped by the fact she returned to the bar wearing bloodstained clothes.

Crimes of espionage against the kingdom of Skyrim after a paranoid chieftan heard about Imperial spys on his lands. To be fair my Breton battlemage was indeed a spy for the empire being sent on assignment to report on a local legend regarding a 'Dovahkiin' or Dragonborn (A lot like Morrowind really).

This occuring after a clandestine individual ratted him out giving away his position to said chieftan shortly after crossing the border.

Also: Becoming the leader of every guild (including the Dark Brotherhood) in Cyrodiil, presumably to further her evil agenda.
