In the event of a deadly viral (zombie-ish) outbreak like in 28 Days later, what would you do?

All jokes aside, in an event of an outbreak or viral infection, (like in 28 Days Later) Would you link up with militant forces and fight the infection this way?

Put on some ye old medieval plate armor and chill. Can't bite through tempered steel with bones. My armor is built to withstand the force of a mounted knight's lance, I don't think they could do much with punching or kicking.
