In the event of a deadly viral (zombie-ish) outbreak like in 28 Days later, what would you do?

Depends on what kind of zombie. If they were your average shumblers where upon getting bit you turn into them, I'd look for somewhere deselete.(By now of course, everyone has gottin the same idea and those deselete places are more crowded then the initial cities.) But if it was Left 4 Dead style zombies in which you can take a pounding by a jockey's $#%@ and still come up shining (and not feel completely violated) I'd Rambo it with some of my closest friends and relatives... and one useless girl.

Lay low in the house for the first few days with my mates, having filled all the containers I can with water and gathering all supplies and weapons I can. This is the time everyone is going to be going crazy and you're just as likely to be shot or killed in a car accident. While cell reception still remained I'd tell my dad my plan and make sure I knew what they were doing.

Then I'd drive to my home town with or without my housemates, it's undertstanderable that they might want to go to their homes, but I will try to warn them not to go (they live in the city), it's not going to be too much trouble as it's not a highway it's mainly rural backroads. Get home get my gun from my dad's house and see what's happening there.

Being as the "infected" are not superhumans, just crazed people, they won't have near the strength required to remove the armor.

Nope but all it needs if for a few to dogpile on you and vomit blood into the visor. Don't get me wrong armour would be useful for defending a place, but with 28 days zombies your best not throwing down with them if you can avoid it. The "infected" may not be superhuman, but they have no inhibitions, there's plenty of stories of people high on meth requiring multiple police to restrain them. These zombies will be able to do some pretty impressive feats of strength.

2-3 weeks and almost all zombies will end up being lumps of rotting meat from constant strain on the muscular system and exposure to the elements.

Seriously, though, probably stock up on food and guns/ammo and try to make it to a really desolate area: the mountains, a desert...something like that.

Basically this, except I wouldn't leave my house unless or until it was compromised or supplies in the area ran out that I couldn't make or grow, and it probably wouldn't be compromised.

Well if they were 28 days style zombies, I'd probably shit myself hard enough to leave a dent in the wall behind me and then get violently ripped to pieces.

Police don't use sharp things to remove bits of the meth heads though, or fast bits of metal to put holes in them. Being human, they don't keep coming despite losing limbs and leaking red stuff all over the place.

Is my plan silly, yes indeed. Am I likely to find it doesn't go as planned, nope because the situation won't actually happen so my silly plan can't be proven to be the death of me.If the infected learn to use Troll Science, I am screwed though. Troll Science always involves magnets and I am walking around in a giant metal suit.

go north, then spend the rest of my time bunkered down in the Canadian Rockies, occasionally making sorties to find other survivors, and to get more supplies.

In my mind: Find a high up place,with guns, three other survivors, food and ammo. The stay there until every zombie is dead.

Realistically: I would probably kill myself knowing I am surrounded by my worst fear. Zombies rank first place in my top 10 all time fears.

Hide with supplies in my house, then when i need food try to sneak out and get it making as little noise as possible and try to survive through stealth.
