"IT'S AN EXPLOSION OF FLAVOR!"

"DUCK AND COVER!"

What? Somebody had to say it.

I'm very interested to see this finalized. When I saw the headline I honestly thought "C4 + habanero = weapon?" but pepper spray/grenades seems likely enough.

I can think of one way women could use the chili to fend off rapists, but it might backfire.
If I read you right, that would basically leave them not raped, but it would feel like the world's worst yeast infection.

Although it might actually FIX a yeast infection.

Hahaha, nice one.

So, when terrorists are being trained they will have to eat a lot of peppers
To understand how HOT this thing is, spray the inside of your mouth with pepper spray, then lower the heat you feel by about three percent.

You can only be born immune to this stuff.

I have eaten thai chili peppers, some really fresh ones when I was in Thailand for a while. These are significantly hotter, I can't imagine what eating one strait would be like.

Finally, a weapon even vegeterians can approve of!
I don't know of any weapons made of meat...?
You do realise that sausages are made in chains right?
Think on that for a while now...

OT: Well, I've heard of a "friend of a friend" eating one, and not being able to speak for half an hour, so they seem pretty hot, and it's interesting that India is developing weapons like this, considering that as a mostly hindu culture they'd turn away from war as much as possible.
But that could also be said about Christians too...

Back On Topic again: Having it for self defense purposes sounds pretty interesting, though I'm unsure how it would keep away wild elephants, considering their thick skin.

No, it was always there.

You just fed it some dinner!

Actually, I could make another Miami joke with that...

Sounds a bit inhumane. Like mustard gas only it doesn't kill you.
Like mustard gas only no permanent damage.

Maybe... more like conventional pepper spray only stronger and in grenade form?

Or tasers? (provided they don't have a pacemaker)

Or rubber bullets? (actually, those can do some lasting damage)

OT:

Good stuff, Non-lethal option > Lethal option.

As long as those who are authorized to use it understand it is still a last resort option. i.e. police who carry pepper spray (at least in WA, last time I checked, a long time ago), have to be exposed to it first so they understand what they are putting the assailant through, such that they do not abuse it just because it is "convenient" and "non-lethal".

The weaponised-steak.

Basically, you get a steak, freeze is and whack someone.
Then eat the evidence :)
