I don't have a problem with the Aliens like most people seem to, but I still thought that Crystal Skull was rather mediocre, and no justification to keep going with this franchise.

Just let it die with dignity.

Crystal skull wasn't so bad, the issue with it was the same issue as Temple Of Doom. The two best Indy movies were the ones that had the nazis and where based around Christian religious nonsense. The two movies that didn't have those; Temple Of Doom and Crystal Skull just weren't as good.

The thing about Temple Of Doom though was that it's time frame meant that it was very easy to switch back to the Nazis without affecting the continuity; and before anyone says it yes I know Temple of Doom was meant to be a prequel despite being the second movie. The problem now though is that their isn't really anyway they can employ the Nazis as the bad guys again, bot unless he goes down the prequel route again.

they said they don't know if Harrison Ford will be back for the 5th one and they think it's just gonna be about Shia LeBeouf.

i am stating right here and now the not having Harrison Ford as THE Indiana Jones is going to brutally rape the movie. That's like having someone else besides Johnny Depp play Captain Jack Sparrow.

shame on you, Spielberg

You know Crystal skull would have been a decent movie if they had just toned it down a bit. there were about 5 or so moments that were just utterly ridiculous. Namely the part with the monkeys, the part after were they fall of a cliff or something and land on a tree and it bends down and drops them safely in the water. The fire ant part, and of course the utterly ridiculous nuke and refrigerator part. There's probably some other ridiculous thing I forgot.

Honestly I could deal with aliens I mean Indiana Jones has always been about supernatural stuff. Still Indy 5 would not be good.

Indy 5, that would imply that there was an Indy 4.

Wait, we were supposed to take that diamond cranium movie seriously?
cause yeah a bunch of magic rocks, a magic gold arc that kills anyone who looks inside it and a magic cup that gives ever lasting life but destroys caves when it passes certain seal are all totally serious things.

the fact of the matter is most "fans" of Indiana Jones/Star Wars have no clue about what they're actually about or what in fact they really are

i have stated it before and i'll state it again, this is what most "fans" of Indy/Star Wars hear or even understand during a George Lucas interview and all appologies to the artist formerly known as Cretin

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
More Star Wars
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Indiana Jones
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
More Star Wars
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Indiana Jones

They made money off the last one, so it was a good bet that they were trying to get another one made.
If you people really hate this, don't watch the movies and don't boycot it. If you do then you'll be giving them free hype.

we are all going to declare it a piece of needless tacky twaddle and hate, hate, DOUBLE hate it & then we will watch it, give lucas our hard earned money and then he will need another hair transplant and so will fund another wars trilogy that will show us that a wookie is an emo with a bad haircut and a speech impediment and we should feel sorry for the disabled (which is another really bad life lesson)and a we will suck up it up again..
it is all commercial sap and we lick it all up and say "thank you headmaster"... sigh..

I was actually a huge fan of the Indy 4, regardless of what everybody says. People's main problem with it is that it's going too far with the Aliens. But here's a funny fact for you, aliens are somewhat plausible and, didn't know if any of you noticed but, the first one has fucking GHOSTS!

FYI: My blind fury is only directed at those who criticize the film for the aformentioned reason. If you have other, more reasonable issues (e.g. Harrison Ford's age), then I have no problem with you.

I think that we're all missing the point - the main thing that we hate is all the special effects. If they remove those, then millions of people will moan about how bad they were. Lucas has a tough equation to balance.
That wasn't why I hated it. I hated it because the ending was terrible, it was littered with cliches and was just generally a terrible film in my opinion.

How successful it will be is questionable but I have very high doubts about whether or not people will like it after the previous one.

I totally agree with your theory. But the beef for me was the alien / sci-fi crud.
I realise it was a story built around the paranoia and Area 51 that was big at the time the story was set, but what made the originals so good was that all the articles were about Faith.
You can argue that belief in a higher power is just as nonsensical as belief in aliens but the Trilogy, for me, was about the human spirit and mankinds capacity for belief giving an artifact it's power. A self fulfilling prophecy if you will.

then you missed the point about the series, there's no deep meaning in it. they are all based on the old pulp novels and adventures and really didn't have very deep meaning besides a fun adventure

also if you want to say about faith and such, then the belief in aliens is something that requires faith as much as some invisible person(s) in the sky does
