Chris Hansen. He's the host of "To Catch A Predator" (a TV show that busts pedophiles)
When you're less well known than Pedobear (does he have the Brit. Spelling as well?), then you really have to question whether your show made an impact. ;)
Well, the show hasnt been popular for years and isnt as culturally relevant anymore.

OT: Zynga doesnt strike me as a company that would care about this, and Im sure will try to turn it around in some way against Nimblebits.

Okay, I hate Zynga as much as the next, but how many games have ripped of an older game before? Suddenly when it's a developer we don't like it's despicable?

[small]But seriously, screw Zynga[/small]

Well if you want to get into semantics I am a fan of Yoot Tower myself. Its named after Yoot Saito the designer for SimTower and is basically the post-Maxis direct sequel to his first game.

What do you know? That game was ported it iOS aswell.

Not as stylized as other Tower games but the OG certainly has its appeal. Since it is borne from an Elevator Simulation program its stressed vertical logistics a lot more than others.

Sim Tower is a deeper simulation game than tiny tower, the only thing similar about the two is the genre, Tower Sim, Zynga however has copied all elements of the Tiny Tower game. Tweaking the graphics and maintaining the gameplay.

An updated sim tower would be cool.

is this like that "This is how gaming moves forward! By releasing the same games over and over exactly!" argument?

Is this really plagiarism though? I mean, Notch never really caught any heat for making a game inspired by Infiniminer, and Rovio never got in trouble for developing Angry Birds from the same concept as Crush the Castle.

except that Infiniminer disappeared into public domain and was abandoned(not to mention Notch basically remade the game and SERIOUSLY revamped it) and Crush the Castle was a flash game, wich was not exploited economically, not to mention that Angry Birds while adopting the same ish gameplay, put incredible difference in the narrative tone and graphics of the game. the only problem in games is when two games are incredibly similar, both in tone and in gameplay, and are in the same competing market, in this case mobile gaming. this is because to avoid rip offs damaging the produce coming from the original piece. a game by Zinga is far more advertised than this lil Tiny Tower, and seeing as they are so similar, selling Zingas game will affect Tiny Towers sales.

TLDR this is very bad and suable i believe because this particular rip off will damage the original one financially.

this is of course, my amateur opinion. dont take it for fact.

that being said, i still dont think itll be suable. rip off is VERY well accepted, and almost always never leads anywhere.

Considering Zyngas attitude they'll probably just ignore this unless Nimblebit decides to press the issue legally. Which if they do, Zynga will just draw out the court case till there tiny studio runs out of money to fund it. Rampant capitalism at it's best gentlemen.
This.

And judging by the fact that in no news post about this is there any mention of Nimblebit suing Zynga and by the fact that they released that picture (if they were planning legal proceedings one would imagine they would have just kept mum) I would say there's no chance that Zynga will be held accountable on a judicial level. Not instigated by just Nimblebit anyway, for the above reasons.

Embarrassing Zynga publicly seems to have been their only feasible recourse and an entertaining one at that.

Nice. It's high time that a consortium of small developers pooled their legal resources to kick this fucking anal parasite into the dust. If not, then bad pubicity may sway a sufficient amount of Zynga's customers.

Is it just me or is Zynga just plain terrible at at least copying things well? The art style in their game is such an ugly, unreadable mess in those pictures that I think it qualifies as being almost as offensive as their general lack of talent and originality.

Sadly, if it comes to a legal dispute then this is exactly what's going to happen. The little guy just doesn't have the funds for a legal battle.

Its more of a case of just stealing THE ENTIRE EXACT CODING AND GAME, but adding a different cheesy texture pack to it. Alot of developers gain ideas from previous similar generations of games, but the moron running Zynga is just blatantly stealing games.

OT: I hope this goes public and helps sread the word of Zynga's BS to their fanbase. Something needs to happen to knock Zynga off it ledge as a popular game "developer."

Oh give me a break. This is nothing but underdog syndrome and indie worship.

Where's your Medal of Honour copied Modern Warfare article?

Where's your World of Warcraft copied Everquest article?

Where's your League of Legends copied Defense of the Ancients article?

Where's your every first-person shooter since Doom copied Doom article?

Where's your every game ever copied every other game ever article?

(I'm not saying I agree with any of these statements, but two games looking and playing the same is hardly anything of a revelation and don't act like this case matters.)

One company saw there was a market for a type of game and they made a product to compete in said market. This is how every industry works and if you want to go around taking shots at Zynga, you will also have to take them at everyone else, lest you be biased or uncertain of your own standpoint.
