Actually, that's not what I meant at all. What I meant is, them not giving PC gamers, you know, the gamers that put IW on the map, the multiplayer support that they've always had, and the only one that they really want. There's a huge difference there.Piecewise said:uppitycracker said:Same here, and good man for following through.Sebenko said:Well, that's nice. I haven't bought it, but my fellow PC gamers have. Pathetic. All of you. Get out of my sight!
Now we can await another fucking terrible port of the next one, and we'll probably buy that too. You know, we deserve this shit if we can't do what we said we were going to.
It should be said, that just because something manages to be such a success, it doesn't mean you should ignore the cries of the audience that you are shafting. It sucks that the sales numbers are the only thing they're gonna see, but I remember a day and age where the consumer dictated what the product had to offer, simply because it was the consumer that was responsible for the success of the manufacturer/distributer. Again, gaming takes a strange stance in that, the consumer is told what to like. Just really depresses me, with the potential games like this could have had for me.
By shafted you mean not pandered too I assume?
Lets face it, pc gaming is pretty fucking weak right now. Nearly every game gets a multiconsole release and they're all pretty much identical. Its why arguing over ps3 or 360 is worthless because, realistically, they're pretty much the same fucking console. Yeah you got your handful of exclusives, but most of them are hardly worth buying, let alone buying a console for. Pc is even worse since it's lone major advantage, graphics, is hardly ever used to it's full extent. Beyond indie games, rts's and MMOs the pc doesn't have shit right now.
And PC gaming is only entering a weak stage due to the simple fact that developers keep doing things to turn people off of PC gaming, such as the no dedicated server support. For the most part, I see PC gaming as being stronger than ever, in the sense that some of the best PC games still get so much multiplayer support, and still have such a huge multiplayer following. The communities formed on dedicated servers across PC gaming cannot even come close to being replaced through any matchmaking service, or anything the console has to offer. Being an avid gamer on both PC and console, I've seen this first hand, for quite a few years.
And no, you are absolutely wrong about the major advantage being graphics on a PC. The major advantages are (usually) customization on game types/modes, mods, community made maps, and the communities formed on dedicated servers. Graphics have always been quite a bit farther down the list for any real PC gamer. The freedom is always the biggest appeal.
