Are you familiar with any Tarantino films?

Also, glad to hear it. And BTW it's spelled Basterds.
Well I only finished watching Kill Bill volume 1 & 2 yesterday so I wouldn't say I'm familiar with his work.
Oh my. Then we should rectify that. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and From Dusk Til Dawn are my favorites. You should definitely see those. The Kill Bills are essentially his worst movies.

Also, yes I noticed I spelled it wrong. My mental spell check auto corrected it though. My mistake.

Yep. I had two friends cancel because their GFs didn't want to see it. Like they couldn't go without them for one thing. Worse though, I had one friend cancel for a "not" GF. Lame.

F***ING AWESOME! Go see it.

Don't really have much else to say on the subject.

Also, of the people who have seen it already, do you agree?
No.

The best character is definitely 'the Jew Hunter'. Acted brilliantly by Christoph Waltz.

Scenes like the one in the basement make it his best work since Pulp Fiction (directing wise). Funnily enough Waltz wasn't even in that scene.

If this was a new directors first or second major work then I would be really excited by the future. But he has been on a slide or over a decade, this has shades of brilliance, but he is still surrounded by fanboys and needs some stern producer to reign him in.

Currently trying to persuade my duller friends to come and see it. It looks like a pretty sweet film, I loved Dusk til Dawn.

I'm looking forward to this. Pulp Fiction is my favourite movie of all time, and if this is him back on form then it'll be incredible.

Hell I'm a 'girlfriend' and I would so pick Inglourious Bastards over that ...thing.

Yes based on Titles alone.

Ahh good, I want to see this film so is Tarantino back on form now? because his last few movies sucked.
I loved it but a lot of people didn't like Grindhouse, I'll give you that, but are you including the Kill Bill's in there as well?

Keep in mind that From Dusk Till Dawn isn't his, it's Robert Rodriguez's. But they've worked together on tons of movies such as Desperado, Sin City, Kill Bill vol 1, and Grindhouse. And I would personally say that Jackie Brown is QT's worst movie.

Umm... for all those people who are saying "what are we discussing"... well, if you would read the title, you would know that they are talking about the movie Inglorious Basterds (yes, it is spelled with an "e" in the title)...

I want to go see it really bad... looked like a Valkyrie spoof at first, but then I heard it was a remake... either way, looks hilarious...

Brad Pitt is one of the wort excuses for an actor since Maria Bello, and Tarantino is one of the most overrated directors of all time. A few great films over a decade ago doesn't mean he's any good these days. He's not funny, Brad's not funny (except in Burn After Reading, which was all terrible except him, bizarrely), and neither know how to shoot a good action scene (then again, Tarantino does plot surprising well, or at least used to).

I won't pay money to see this. I made that mistake with Mummy 3 and Transformers, never EVER AGAIN!!! I hate most of the film industry atm, could District 9 come to the UK any sooner, please?

I agree with OP. It's fantastic. It's just a revenge shot against the Nazis (as if there aren't enough of them already) but it's brilliant, really funny and has a great climax. It is a bit too long and drags on a bit so it's not perfect, but still great

Ah I see. Well I doubt I'll be able to go to the cinemas tomorrow anyway so I'll go rent them instead.

I saw it on Wednesday, and its the first film I've been to were people actually applauded at the end. It is a great film, though I hoped you'd see a bit more plotless Nazi killings, but it still doesn't dampen my love for this film. Can't really say anything or else I'll ruin part of a scene, and that would be worse then blasphemy.

I want to see it just for the quote "We in the killin' Nazi bus'ness."

I had the same with with Gran Torino. "Get off my laaawn..."

All joking aside I want to see the movie because it looks fairly humorous and I'm quite interested in WW2.

Saw it a couple of days ago and it is fantastic. Tarrintino has gone back to his old style where the dialogue is the focus. That's not to say there is no action in it (there is) but the dialogue is drenched in atmosphere.

I heard it was WW2 AU thing. I don't expect much historical accuracy but I am definitely going to see it tonight. My sister and her friend are going with me because I think it'll be a lot of fun.

It looks like it's gonna be cool.
