I'm not getting one til June so hopefully it won't pull a Wii and be unfindable for the first year and a half :\
better question, what if they run out of copies?Onyx Oblivion said:What would happen if there was a 3DS Monster Hunter game?!
Man Call of Duty WISHES it had the kind of popularity in the U.S. that Monster Hunter has in Japan. Monster Hunter is so popular it moved, what, hundreds of thousands of PSPs? Despite the PSP being coming close to death (regardless of what Sony executives say)?Dawkter said:That's what popped up in my head when I read this thread, too...Onyx Oblivion said:What would happen if there was a 3DS Monster Hunter game?!
Also, 'if'? LOL Monster Hunter is just as popular in Japan like Call of Duty is here in Amerricuh. There's no doubt that there would be a MH game on the 3DS.
There's also Dragon Quest which apparently has to be releasd on a public holiday since once so many people phoned in sickBrunDeign said:Man Call of Duty WISHES it had the kind of popularity in the U.S. that Monster Hunter has in Japan. And yeah, 3DS sold out in one day... SUCK IT KINECT! SUCK IT MOVE!
Oh and I wish the NGP the best of luck because. Holy. Shit. Will. It. Need. It.
You asleep or something? Haven't game stores already reported that they've had more pre-orders on this than the Wii?Asuka Soryu said:I really don't think because it sold so well in Japan guarantees it'll sale as well in other parts of the world.
I'm as excited to play Link's Awakening again as you are, but I hate to have to inform you that you won't be able to get it, or any other VC, DSiWare, or 3dsware games until the eShop is completed and installed in a firmware patch due for late May.starwarsgeek said:Link's Awakening is supposed to be one of the first handheld VC games. I'll be buying mine on the 27th and use that and DS games to get some use out of it before the big titles start coming out.SomethingAmazing said:Are they just buying it for its own sake?
The 3DS launch titles are shit and it doesn't look like we're seeing any good titles for months to come. Possibly in a year. So why not hold out on buying one due to the possibility of a price drop?
Granted a price drop is not likely so soon, but better to wait out of the slight possibility than buy at full price for absolutely nothing.
Oh well, thanks for letting me know about that. (Never actually played LA before, but if I've waited this long, another couple of months won't kill me). I guess I will pick up a game or two at launch then. That's a good point about not overshadowing them with a flagship series game at launch...I never thought about it like that before.Electrogecko said:I'm as excited to play Link's Awakening again as you are, but I hate to have to inform you that you won't be able to get it, or any other VC, DSiWare, or 3dsware games until the eShop is completed and installed in a firmware patch due for late May.starwarsgeek said:Link's Awakening is supposed to be one of the first handheld VC games. As for whether or not the launch lineup is crap, I think it's pretty impressive how so many people are able to foresee whether certain games are good or not before they play them or even read a review! (Typical. People skim the launch titles, don't see anything that's familiar, say the launch titles are bad, then complain about how developers don't push new IP's) Who is to say that Steel Diver, Pilotwings, Street Fighter 4, and Monkey Ball won't all be fantastic.
I think it's a good strategy to not have a ridiculously high profile game on launch day. The consoles will sell regardless, and it will reward obscure and 3rd party titles with much more sales than they would've seen if they were overshadowed by a Mario or Zelda title. The system will hold itself over until the major releases after E3 reasonably well with it's built-in software and the novelty of 3d and AR. I'm personally very excited to play Rayman 3d on launch day, as I have never played any of the many versions of that game.
lol Yes, because what are culture buys into is the same as what their culture buys into. Like how the 360 flopped here. Oh, wait. It sold well here and flopped in Japan.Tiswas said:You asleep or something? I think it was even on the Escapist that in Jan (I think) more people pre-ordered the 3DS than bought the Wii, PS3, PSP, DS and 360 combined that month
