Jesus have bloody mercy...the fact that some news sources aren't taking this seriously (I'm a little impressed that apparently Fox is actually taking it fairly legit like...must be the name...) is just horrible. Here's to hopping those that were hurt get better without complications, and we can stop this kind of stuff from happening in the future.

This is sick. I've been to Anthrocon with my girlfriend. She's a furry (has a quadsuit she made and everything) and I'm a minor furry. The people at this con were some of the nicest I've ever met. While some probably were, the majority of them weren't having Caligula-esque blood orgies in their hotel rooms while a guy in a wolf suit windmills his penis for the delight of the crowd. They were just people who like animals.

I'm also upset that the hotel isn't offering refunds. If I were to get poisoned on someone else's property through no fault of my own, you better bet I'd be getting my money back. They are responsible for their guests.
Ok sorry as nice as it would be for them to I do NOT agree with that reasoning. If I'm staying at a hotel and someone enters the place and starts shooting I do NOT hold the hotel responsible (unless they had been tipped off something would happen). There are things beyond their control, now I think it's amazing if they do pay for it, I wouldn't be upset if they didn't.

I don't understand the hate towards furries and therians, personally. You'll hear plenty of eccentrics claim they've remembered some of their past lives or that they're psychic vampires or just plain old sensitives, and yet as soon as someone says something along the lines of "I'm not attracted to the human form while still recognizing bestiality for what it is", the pitchforks are raised.
To be fair, none of the things you mention can be mentioned in mixed company without people getting freaked a bit.

I'm trying very hard to focus on the fact that nobody was actually killed by this fact and not on the...let's say "unwelcome" commentary of some people. Not so much here, as the response has generally been that gassing people isn't acceptable, but in other comment sections related to this. I...I don't understand how someone can be so unimaginably stupid as to think this sort of thing is acceptable as long as it's targeting someone they don't like, or fine weird or...

This should make me angry. This should make furious, actually. But after a moment or two of that, all I feel is very, very tired. I hope everyone affected recovers soon. And the ones responsible are brought to justice quickly. If the news anchors earlier in the thread has any integrity, their resignations would already be filled out.

Well the good thing is everyone effected have been released from the hospital fully recovered. It sickens me that this happened, but at least no lasting damage has been done and everyone's okay.
