www.eeggs.com for your easter egg needs. it's been a while since i've looked at it, but there are some pretty damn good ones out there. i especially like the one where you can see the hl2 logo if you open up hl2.exe in notepad.

Did anyone ever "follow the white barrels" in MX Superfly? that was by far the most hard to get to easter egg ive ever seen in a game.

Although a very dissapointing game, GTA IV had the easter egg of finding a beating heart inside of the statue of liberty, i thought that was rather clever.
Also, in Halo 3, if in the Covenant, you don't kill any enemies in the building, you can see a brute with his face to the wall peeing.
Thought it was rather funny, as he would make relieved groans and appear to have trouble doing up his fly.
:)

I'm not sure if this qualifies as an easter egg. My friends and I were playing The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and noticed that after destroying larger buildings there would sometimes be a moderately sized concrete block with a steel beam coming out of it. We picked it up, and Hulk held it like a giant hammer... like Thor's hammer.

This would have not been as humorous if we did not discover that you could run around with "Thor's Hammer" and completely annhilate nearly everything in your path, to much more of an extreme than any other object. It was awesome.

Always loved these threads, You learn so many cool things.

My favorite has to be when Psycho Mantis reads your memory card in MGS and knows if you played any Konami games, at first I had no idea how he was doing that.
"So.. you like to play Castlevania??"

Gears 2 - the toaster and cowboy hats
Halo 3 - RVB door

Spiderman & Spiderman 2 : Enter Electro for the PS1 - had a cheat code that would alter the game to a more comical setting. Explosiv barrels become bananas, god appears befoer you and torture becomes being force to dance
Don't forget the "We love Spiderman" blimp.

In Saint's Row 2, I took the effort to dress my character up like The Blues Brothers (black suit, white shirt & black tie, black Fedora, black sunglasses, black dress shoes).

Coming back from my little shopping diversion, as I entered my crib, one of the strippers said "I wonder how Jake and Elwood are doing".

I think it's cool how the game recognised the clothing combination and look I was going for, and made a NPC comment appropriately.
That is truly awesome!

Fallout 2, the whale that fell from a great height, and the bowl of petunias that you can pick up and carry with you.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reconing, has loads of little easter egg quests around, that don't show up until you click on the object/person. Including a Cow tipping quest! And finding a barrel of perfume to give to a guy covered in troll vomit.

Baldurs Gate 2: the adventuring shop has Dungeons and Dragons (animated series) posters on the wall.

L4D: can't remember where, but theres a box of cereal, that on the back has an ad for the free prize inside, as a tf2 figure. "Collect all 10!" (But only 9 classes? ZOMG!)

I remember that one San Andreas right?
Fallout 2 had a few the Cafe of Broken Dreams where you could get Dog-meat was nice as were their two refrences to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
I liked Vice City's Easter Egg Easter Egg even though it was very difficult to find.
I read in what I think was an Official Playstaion Magazine, if you go to the same place in Vice City Stories it shows the Easter Egg Easter Egg still under construction.

My favourite one is where you can find the Dust Puppy from UserFriendly in some of the Quake 3 maps

There's loads in Guild Wars, thousands of references to films and stuff.

The one I like is when you're fighitng Abaddon, if all the players dance on the bridge before the room he's in, he does a little dance with you. Then kills you and says "you got served"

Awesome

In Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight you're on a mercenary-killin' rampage through a village and a civilian sees you coming and runs and hides inside his house. He locks the door behind him, but if you hit Force Speed before you get to him and Force Jump over the river nearby instead of going over the bridge you can enter the house ahead of him. Inside is Max from the Sam & Max adventure games, also by Lucasarts. He just stands there, and appears to be invulnerable, but he's still an awesome inclusion :)

I remember this one. It was pretty cool. I also remember you could actually get him to go outside and kill everything in sight if you hit him enough (or something like that).

EDIT: After doing some research, it seems you need to "use" Max.

In Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, for N64, when on the Swoop Bike rider, RIGHT after to leave the city, if you turn to the left, there was a challenge point along the wall that looked like Sam from Sam and Max. (or Max, whichever was teh bunneh)

The most recent one that comes to mind was in fallout 3 when you find the text based adventure in the comic book store.

Also the goatsie reference in L4D...

I like the one in Legend of Zelda: OoT where, when you get into the castle courtyard and shoot one of the paintings in the window, someone will throw a bomb at you.

Also, can someone explain the hidden cow level from Diablo? I never understood what it was and I'm curious.
