I saw it last night, and I have to say, it wasn't that bad. I do have to say, though, that some of it was a disappointment. I really hoped Whiplash would have talked more, but I did like his occasional commentary. But Hammer....whoever played him made him seem like an over enthusiastic nerdy prick.

Did anyone else see it?

Ya, I saw it. I felt like it was better than the first in some ways (Ex. action), but worse in others (Ex. character interaction)

I saw it. I thought it was a completely unnecessary film, and it's only real purpose was to set up The Avengers.

I did see it, didnt think it was as good as the first, but still good in its own way. Good points for me were Scarlett in that outfit, 2 Iron Men and MORE TONY STARK! Think they definately cast the right man for this role.

I saw it but I still think that The Dark Knight was better. For one it was darker and seemed more epic while Iron Man 2 was more of an action orrientated movie. Both are really close though, I was not dissapointed.

Yeah, I wished Whiplash had a bigger role, he was such a neat character. Also, I think that Hammer was meant to come off as a prick.

I dislike it the more I think about it.

It was very much a disappointment. I wish there were fewer scenes with S.H.I.E.L.D., more scenes with Vanko, no scenes with Hammer, and a much darker tone.

I agree on the role for Tony Stark. I noticed he looks almost exactly like my Algebra teacher, which shocked every one of my friends that had come with me. Now we're convinced he's secretly an actor.

I felt that the climax came too early, as well as the fight with Whiplash. After wards, I was like "wait...that's it? It's over? Already?"

The first half was pretty good, but the second half felt distinctly rushed. And Hammer was the PERFECT militant ego-maniacal prick. Loved him.

Also, the courtroom scene at the beginning was how I felt the rest of the movie should've been done.

That was my one criticism of the movie... WHiplash was waay underdeveloped as a character.

Other than that, it was awesome. Robert Downey JR oozes cool.

I disagree withe the darker tone. Iron Man seems to be the only superhero right now who isn't a melodramatic, whiny little ****, and I want to keep it that way.
XD no, i disagree! it needs more sparkly vampires and emo ponies!

Sadly, I get the feeling it would be an even bigger box office hit if they added those in the middle of the fight scenes.

By the way... did anyone watch till after the credits? There was a nice little extra scene that was kind of a teaser for the next movie.

I've seen it and I really enjoyed it, though I can't decide whether I prefer the first or the second. The first was much better in terms of character development, however, the second had much better action scenes (and, in all fairness, what's the main reason people go to see a superhero film?)
They could have done much more with Whiplash, but it still worked without them doing so.

When I think back, I realise it was kind of a disapointment. At the time though all I thought about was the action, the explosions and that one scene when Tony was piss drunk. I was happy though the movie and I enjoyed the experience. That's kinda enough for me.

Honestly, Iron Man 2 was a better action flick than the original, I think. I saw it, and thought it was awesome. Iron Man was a much better character film with the sole disappointment of lacking a really good fight scene. However, I thought that Tony being Tony in the original (handled incredibly by Robert Downey Jr.) was just more fun to watch than Tony self-destructing in the sequel. But...the original did not have Scarlett Johannson. Honestly, both of the films were upper-tier comic book films, each in their own ways. Sure, neither of them are on par with The Dark Knight, but that's like telling an artist he's no good unless he can match the Mona Lisa.

tl;dr: Iron Man 2 was a great movie. Go see it. 9/10

Sure it had faults and i was sorely disappointed at the final battle but, overall i thought it was great.

Agreed on almost all points. While 'dark' works fine in many movies, a centeal part of why I liked the first movie so much more is the kind of levity Stark displays; still, I do understand that the 'dark' thing is more important in context of the movie's main topics.
