Since a perfect sphere does not exist in nature not even the Earth, it too is more oblong, I would have to say yes, it's round. You know since 'round' means lacking angles.

round yes, circle no.
EDIT: to clarify, I mean, round means the lack of angles and corners. that means it is round. But it is not a perfect circle/sphere, so it's not a circle/sphere.

No, it can be roundish. Either way i know for sure, however, that it came before the chicken.
Totally not! T-Rex came first! Then it evolved into a chicken! And so eggs were born! Don't you watch discovery channel...jeez.
Eggs are laid, not born! Don't you know basic zoology... jeez.

Tyrannosaurus rex did, in fact, not evolve into a chicken, or any bird-like creature. If you follow evolution, the archaeopteryx evolved into the first birds.

OT: No, an egg is more of an elliptical shape.

But who laid that egg? HUH?

Ahem... no, an egg is not round. Jesus, the questions one has to hear.

Explain then!

They be to similar. The only thing that its not similar is that T-Rexes had teeth and chickens don't! The scales are painted feathers!

Also Doctor Serious must have paged his assistant: The Fact Surgeon! We going to get a full medical team here to debunk my theory, that is totally based on accurate facts and findings.

Spherical and round are not synonyms, people. Eggs are not the former, but they are the latter. Technically, eggs are ovate spheroids.

No one, the egg has always been there, its omnipresent.
That's a pretty metaphysical egg, then.

It's neither an oval nor a circle (it's not bloody 2-dimensional), yet it's round.

Something can be round without it being spherical. Round just means it's curved.
Also, this. Add "without being circular" to avoid some more confusion.

Am I the only one that noticed the fact that this thread did not refer to a "chicken" egg I think of things like frog eggs or other such as it. In any case I would say all eggs are round due to the fact I have never seen a egg in the shape of a cube.

Depending on the animal that laid the egg, it can be round or oval.

Poultry egg: usually oval.
Fish egg: usually round.

I'd say an egg is round, but not circular or spherical. Just like the orbit of planets around the sun.
