Is being bad more fun?

I like to think there's a balance to it. For everything bad you do you do something good to balance it out, most of the time without realising.

For example, if I found a wallet I would hand it in to the authorities straight away.

I'd keep whatever money was in it though...

Being bad in games is fun because consequences in games are far less than irl, some games like knights of the old republic make the game far easier if you are bad - good luck getting anywhere without force lightning.

Then a game like GTA, you go killing loads of people and stealing cars and pretty soon you're public enemy number 1 and you'll have enough heat on your ass to take down a small army.

So I guess my general thoughts on the matter are yes, but obviously not irl.

Edit: With the example, I keep the money because I can get away with it...

Evil is great until the guilt sets in...

I think if you can justify something to yourself by twisting logic, you can get past the guilt eventually though...of course then your skewed perspective probably means you'll take up eating puppies...

If you lost it, and I pick it up without you noticing, I will consider it to be mine.
If I found a wallet, I'd keep the cash and deliver the wallet at the police station or something.

Hell, I'd even rob a bank if I was 100% certain to get away with it...

In real life i'm a decent honest person.

In video games, fuck it, where are the babies to eat, virgins to despoil and enemies to cook in boiling milk.
Now why would you treat perfectly good milk that way?
That's just evil...

I'd take the money. If he/she dropped it then they obviously weren't paying much attention to it and therefore do not deserve it.

Everything in moderation. You can be a real dickhead some of the time, but still maintain relationships and a reputation.

If my friends were around I'd do it, mainly because I'm a sucker for peer pressure, at least from people I care about, but if my friends weren't there I would just leave it.

I guess being bad is more fun, atleast until you get the PO-LICE ON YOUR ASS WIGGA!

I'm so sorry for what I just did. I'm going to go crawl in a hole and never show my face to anyone in the next eighteen years. They shouldn't have to.

I find being good more fun, vanquishing evil for the good of the land and all that.

As for this so called "lobster" I would ignore the note as Australian money is not worth anything.

I am just going to be the first one I think to say morals are subjective and there is no set in stone belief of what is good and evil. Though, by regular societies definition of Good and Evil, I'd say neutral is the most fun.

Being good is far better, since you can go into the police and beat people silly.

That, and if you're like me, the guilt will kill you if you're not good.

In the same way that I've heard others complain about morality systems in games where there's just perfectly good and angelic or total evil jerk, I object to the idea that there's just two sides to this. Whilst I feel everything very strongly and therefore get equally (or usually more) hurt when I hurt someone else, so now I avoid doing it at all costs, I do like the feeling of being rebellious an going against what is expected.

(BTW, Yes I do realise that I have read too much into this topic, like I have done with several others, and some of my responses are too long. I'm sorry if you feel this is an issue, however I refuse to change unless a mod specifically tells me to do so.)

Good, Evil, it doesn't matter. As long as I benefit from my actions.

But in games, I'm usually evil. It's more fun.

it's like that quote from Spider-Man 3
"I like being bad, it makes me happy..."
