now if you best friend just died right next to you, yes i have a problem. But if you crashed on an island and had nothing to eat. I saw go for it.
That is just disgusting. Plus another reason NOT to be a vegetarian.

I'd eat someone if I murdered them, just to bury some of the evidence, I'd also grind down the bones and sell them as medicine as some kind. I'd probably eat a PeTA member as well just so I won't be eating an animal that isn't human so I'd be both decrasing their numbers by doing something they were telling us all to do. Also if I was on an island I'd eat the first person who dies. ...what?
The taboo about cannibalism is one of those taboos that came about for a good reason, at the time. For example, the drinking of human blood, and the eating of pork are similar taboos, and they all have one thing in common, they are bad for you, like seriously bad.
If you eat undercooked pork or human flesh you can get seriously sick, even more so with human flesh as you can catch whatever the hell they had, illnesses rarely jump species, but ingesting human flesh? That's just asking for it. If I remember rightly there was a tribe of cannibals in south east Asia that kept dying young due to a prion infection that kept jumping from generation to generation, how was it jumping? well the tribes funeral rites involved eating the brains of the dude person...
So yeah, we're all enlightened and everything now, but that doesn't mean that taboos didn't and still don't serve a purpose, you just have to consider the time when they were invented and what they are actually talking about.

Inspite of my previeous post I doubt I would have the willpower to eat anyone.
But that is probably due to the social conventions I have come to accept growing up where and when I did. Thus it would go the same for eating a horse, dog or cat.

I went to a college taster day last week, and did Law as one of my subjects, and we learnt that cannibalism is legal. Obviously you'd have to legally get hold of the body, but the act of eating human flesh is legal. I wouldn't do it unless starving, but still.pope_of_larry said:
