I think it's okay if you're sniping.
Really there's nothing wrong with it at all, but it just gets annoying.

thats how i got my first nuke in MW2, long corridor in skidrow holographic FAL claymores behind me. i know its bad but i wanted a nuke so badlythefreeman0001 said:i dont mind camping in certain situations. the obvious one is if you would be at a major disadvantage in a direct fight (like sniper rifle versus shot gun) but if you were camping a very loooooooong corridor with no cover and people had no choice but to go down it and be picked off with a sniper rifle from just one guy staying there then camping wouldnt be acceptable.
The worst is when they get into tanks and snipe... with a tank... I've seen plenty of tanks just sitting there long range camping on the attack team.Kenko said:Sometimes you have to hold ground because theres nowhere else to go.
But I dont like camping when an entire "Attacking team" in BFBC2 rush sits around camping with recon and does nothing but snipe and call mortar and not even doing it properly. Thus leading to the few that do attack are outnumbered and outgunned.
It really depends on the game tbh.
like anything in BC2 its situational, if youve managed to steal a tank from the attackers then you should be allowed to take it and do what the F*** you want with it you deserve it. Same with helos, if you can succesfully steal an enemy helo they deserve to be spawn raped with itProfessorLayton said:The worst is when they get into tanks and snipe... with a tank... Why no? It is a legitimate strategy whether it is in games or not. Just read Newfoundsky's post.TehIrishSoap said:In Real Life? Yes.
In Games? No.
In MW2, Whenever I See A Camper, I Riot Shield Them To Death XD
It's totally a legitimate strategy. It just makes those not camping have to alter their tactics a bit. I think it's fun catching campers and killing them. But, it's also fun to sit in one place and watch inattentive people run into the same area again and again.Kefkacultist said:
But they didn't steal it from us. It spawned in their base. And they sat on the hill and camped from a mile away. They were in their territory, too, so it's not like I could have C4'd it to death. I definitely agree with this, seeing TF2 where snipers can be killed as easily (if not easier) if they camp over just sniping normally.GamesB2 said:Camping's a legitimate strategy. It's just games like Call of Duty unbalance it and make it harder to kill them.
For example: Sniper in slot one, shotgun in slot two.
Yes yes yes yes yes.Serenegoose said:If you're defending an objective, it's not camping. It's 'defending the objective'.
I think that generally if you camp a spot you're just doing it wrong. Not because it makes you 'too good' at the game, that's a pretty piss weak excuse. "You're not moving or performing any sort of evasive maneouvres and that means you keep killing me!" Uh... what? Sorry, if some guy keeps picking you off because you keep coming round the same route, and despite the fact he's not moving you can't put a bullet in him, that's not him being good, that's you being awful.
The best 'snipers' move around all the time, to make sure they're always catching the enemy off guard.
i have to admit ive used that tactic before by any chance was it on isla innocents, ive sat on that hill with the tank and rained down some hell into the village but then again thats not too far away and its the second base so you should be able to get behind me by the second baseProfessorLayton said:But they didn't steal it from us.
