Finding a fictional character atractive is completly natural, just don't let it get out of hand.

I don't think there's anything wrong with finding a fictional character sexy...

There are some that are meant to be.

Jessica Rabbit - undeniably sexy BECAUSE she's not real.
If she were real with those proportions she'd be grotesque.

I see no problem at all by this, as long as you do not become addicted/obsessed and do realize that the character is a work of fiction.

So long as you don't let it translate into your actual life, i.e. waiting for a Leon Kennedy to come along. A lot of fictional characters are pretty ideal, so you gotta know where to draw the line :p.

My husband likes to joke that if Qhuinn, or Asher were actual people instead of fictional characters, I'd leave him in a heartbeat. Not true... but when a writer/illustrator creates characters that are meant to enjoyed, if you don't enjoy them, then they did something wrong. This from a woman who has a poster of the character Jean-Claude hung in her spare bedroom...lol.

Perfectally fine unless you let it control you. Know where to draw the line at a fictions drawing. It can't love back. But isn't this the whole point of Hentai? Anime characters doing sexy things or having sex. Works for some, some not so much. So it's your call.

Part of any writer's job is to evoke an emotional response. If you didn't feel anything, be it pity, anger, hatred, love, even sexual attraction, they failed at their job. It is part of that whole imagination and immersion thing that fiction writing of any kind is supposed to evoke.
While this is true, sex appeal is pretty easy to evoke and is therefore frequently used by inferior writers.

...Such as in this webcomic: http://leasticoulddo.com/comic/20051213
Thus I find myself reading a new webcomic...
yeah it's hard to quit reading, have fun!

Yes, because the brain does not differentiate "real" and "fictional" when it comes to attractiveness.

i think youll find if you find a character attractive, then thats just what the creators were trying to do. i mean, ever heard the story about lara crofts tits?

When I was ten or eleven,I had a huge crush on Mimi from the original series of Digimon.Looking back,I can't remember why,but I just know I did.

More recently, while reading a series of books called The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb,I found that I was really attracted to Lady Patience, because she's what I would look for in a girl.Strange, weird, and will chase people around a court yard with a horse whip for ever saying something wrong about her husband's bastard son XD

So I'd be a hypocrite if I said it's wrong.Like people have said,it's fine,as long as you don't go too far.But hey, everyone's got that weird thing about them,so,you know,he without sin and all that
Hahaha! I love Robin Hobb books! Kind of had a bit of a crush on Verity for a while there. And Patience is an awesome character.

That's right, Ebert, you heard me.
The thought of Roger Ebert reading these forums made me lol myself.

OT - There's not much more to add. If they're specifically designed to be attractive, then there's no problem. People marrying pillows on the other hand...

I can understand the crush on Verity, and I'm a straight guy. But,alas,my man crush heart will always belong to Burrich when it comes to those books.A man who dies charging a dragon, when he is blind, and can barely walk at the best of times,is a man who deserves some man crushes.

And when I said to my friend that I wished I had a girlfriend like Patience,he gave me a very funny look, and changed the subject quite quickly. But she's awesome!

If I said it was sick to find a fictional person/being attractive I'd be a hypocrite.

Really, there are a lot of people I can name who don't exist and look sexy.

I think that it's okay. I mean, that's sorta why, to quote Yahtzee, they put them "In clothes with less than a square foot of fabric." They're supposed to be attractive. Another one of the many ways that char. devs make you want the game. Think: if there's someone ugly for a protagonist, and the other game has an incredibly sexy woman, and the gameplay/everthing else is equal, you're probably gonna take the game that has the looker in it.
