Is it ok to find a fictional character sexy/attractive?

Yeah. As long as you don't only think fictional characters are sexy.

I always used to have crushes on anime characters, hell, I still do but only when I was a child...

The majority of fictional characters are archetypes, exaggerated or enhanced versions of real human beings, so I don't see why it would be wrong to find them attractive, as long as you stay within certain parameters.

Y'know, if I came home and found my best mate wanking over Lara Croft on the PS1 then I'd be at the very least surprised.

Why would it be a bad thing? Isn't any women in a sexual fantasy a fictional character? And isn't an intentionally sexy/erotic cartoon character just a realization of that fantasy in real life?

Famous artists attempt to make photo realistic drawings of the female form all the time, with the hope that people can perceive it as arousing/attractive. Why is a cartoon any different? It may or may not be cruder than a photo realistic drawing, but if someone finds it personally attractive to them I don't see a problem with it.

Take Jessica Rabbit for example, she was designed to ooze sexuality and her face alone is coquettish and arousing to many. If it was wrong to be attracted to a cartoon character, why would Disney create her? Isn't Disney practically the public face of morality and personal values? Yes, I think so.

So no, of course it isn't wrong. It's human nature to recognize certain shapes and figures as sexual and attractive. There's no reason to be ashamed of it.

Of course it's okay. As long as you're not, you know, in love or anything and you understand that they're fictional, what's wrong with thinking they're attractive?

When an artist or animator draws a character to be attractive and sexy, and people see him/her as such, They're doing their Job.

Seconded.
Yes.
Anyway, as has been stated, as long as it is not been taken to far. Such as over obsessing, ignoring real life, or marrying an object.
It's all right, they're meant to be attractive. But don't do anything extreme. Like when that guy in Japan married his DS becouse of a character in a video game.

One more thing to add, humans can find a fictional person attractive becouse we see them as people. If we saw them as blobs of color, we wouldn't.

Well it isn't wrong to find theme sexy because thats what designers try to do. The WRONG thing is falling in love with them when you know its impossible to love them.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with it, it's only wierd if you're only attracted to fictional characters.

If the character looks human enough I don't see the issue. I mean, obviously fixation on it could potentially be worse than fixating on someone real, but its still an issue.

I once knew a girl who was thrown into a depression by her beloved Sephiroth not being able to marry her.

In those instances it gets sick. But obviously no man is going to deny Jessica Rabbit's a babe. Some characters were designed to be perfectly sexy. Nothing wrong with thinking "wow thats pretty hot."

The only time it becomes wrong is when you start celebrating that character's birthday, have sex with a pillow that has their picture on the case, and start calling that character your "wife" in a completely serious manner.

Well, maybe Alyx from Half-Life 2 & it's episodes, she's kinda cute and kicks lots of alien asses.

But no, I haven't felt attracted to any fictional female, ever. They look kinda cute sometimes, but I haven't felt anything for them.

It's not everyone's cup of tea but there's nothing wrong with it.

As long as you don't obsess over it and end up marrying a Japanese love pillow or something! :p

That's totally fine. In fact some of them are there or designed as they are just for that purpose (Because sex sells).

Marrying a framed photo of them might signify greater problems, however.
