I tend to agree we are nightmares. The thing is, scumofsociety, I am not really the *friend* type, I never had a friend were I did things out of school, but that is a diffrent story.

Well, it's not all about sex you know... Holding a girls hand, looking into her eyes, loving her, her loving you, kissing... I'd say yes, it's worth it.
Also what this guy said
I third this. A relationship is not just about sex, nor is having interest in the opposite sex solely because of sex.
If you're up for all the romantic stuff: Sure it's worth the trouble. If not: I suggest finding other means of releasing sexual tension than a relationship.
I fourth this. Are you telling him to like, jack off or something? Other than hookers it's the only other meaning I can get out of that.

Dude, your 15

You have growing up to do still
Growing up for what? Meeting girls? He's a teenager. This is probably the most important time of his life to socialize. This isn't about finding a soul-mate.

Anyway, sex probably is over-rated, but that doesn't mean it's not good.
But hey, if you think girls are too much of a bother, you could always turn gay. Or asexual(no, I'm not joking).
Psst! What's asexual again?

There's about 3 guys that I know who are 'anti-sexual' and one won't even touch his penis because thoughts about it and sex "disgust him".

from the OP I doubt that's this guy's style.

not while your at school. i'm doing my first year at uni, and i'm now just starting to look. it's too much hassle, and all the perks you get are sort of illegal in your country until 18 at the very earliest.

Asexual means you either have no gender, or you just couldn't give a shit. i think.

i can't remember

As a girl in your age, I have to say that I agree with most of the posts were they say that you should wait for you to fall in love. Please, just dont trick the chick. Dont try to get laid with a girl pretending that you like her, it was close that a guy did that to me, its horrible, wait til you find the right person to be together with, and it will be worth it.

adj.
1. Having no evident sex or sex organs; sexless.
2. Relating to, produced by, or involving reproduction that occurs without the union of male and female gametes, as in binary fission or budding.
3. Lacking interest in or desire for sex.

So says Answers.com.
That last line is what you're looking for.

I think this post is a little pressuring. Telling a 15 year old to 'wait untill you meet the right person' is a little naive I think. No offense. First of all, he should go out and meet girls in general. Then maybe pursue a relationship if he actually decides that he likes them. You should experiment, and by no means think that your first relationship is going to be you'r only one. Having bad relationships is also an experience, and almost everyone goes through atleast one of them. You can only grow from it. Either way it really doesn't sound like the OP is the kind of guy who's gonna pretend to like girls to get in their pants when he's asking if he should even bother to interact with them in the first place.

And don't ever get it into your head that being drunk is an excuse! I haven't done anything major but I like to get naked after far too much (up to them I'm very friendly and helpful) and believe me, a bad reputation spreads faster than good one.

I know this may sound strange, but is it worth the trouble for me, a 15 year old, to have any interest in the opposite sex? Based on other topics, sex seems over-rated. The clincher is that I go to an all boys school so finding a female that I like and that likes me is very difficult. So to all you guys and gals, is it really worth the effort to even have contact with the opposite sex?
Well, I have to say it all depends on your intentions.

Personally, I actually find girls are much more interesting company than guys, but that's just me, and I'm a little camp (apparently).

If you're looking for girls with just the intent of finding a girlfriend/having sex, then be prepared for a long, drawn-out and extremely depressing time. Try to just make friends with girls, they're not so alien.

My girlfriend and I met about two years ago, and never really saw eachother as anything other than friends for the first couple of months, then stuff just seemed to happen, and I realised we had quickly become really, really close.

No, relationships between teenagers of the opposite sex is just pathetic...The way to do it is make friends with other girls and then meet them when your a adult, and go 'OH hey your that girl from my school', or what ever, and say cute little things like 'I had a crush on you' Or crap like that...Girls love it.

Teenage relationships always end up with teenage pregnancy or just a stupid emotional break up.

Just to add to my previous point. You don't need to be getting a girlfirend or looking for sex if you don't feel like it atm. Just hanging around with women and having them as friends is also a very worthwhile experience.

Please try not to generalize. My big brother has been with his high-school sweetheart for about 6 years now. And no, she's not pergnant.

Also, uh, I'm a girl. If someone said that to me I'd think "why didn't you do something about it 5 years ago then?" I wouldn't think it was cute.

I'll revise. I do not even want to TALK to them. Let alone relationships. Oh the horror stories I have heard! It just is a bad idea to even talk to the opposite sex, to me. Once I start talking to them, my time is taken away from studying, and that leads my life to fail.

1. Gaydar alert
2. All work and no play makes ghost02 a dull boy.

Just initial reactions on that.

Edit: Don't listen to horror stories. They're all exaggerated because of emotion.

Yeah...do you think girls are some sort of mythical creature like Nessi or something? They're people. Hardly THAT different from your current friends I'm sure. Don't listen to stories. Go out and see if they're true for yourself.

Also, we're talking right now. Am I scary?
