My cat sleeps on my mums bed, won't let her in my room because she likes pawing at the TV, knocks things off the desk, once nearly knocked my Xbox off (Stupid cat -.-) although i suppose it's curiosity.

But if she was a calm cat, i'd let her sleep on my bed, don't see anything wrong with it, Cats and Dogs both love there masters (Dogs more than Cat's i would say, but they will still know love when they get it) and for them to be on the same bed would be an honour for them.

mine sleeps in my dads room under the bed as he doesn't want dogs on his expensive quilts. I on the other hand don't care and if he plods in when i decide to have a lay in, then he sleeps at the bottom end of the bed.

however, feeding the dog like a person, clothing it and taking it to have beauty treatments (other then a shampoo and cut like for long haired dogs) is a bit too far.

Our beagle sleeps in our bed, too. He burrows under the covers, and will cuddle up against your leg, and start snoring. :)

My dog has slept in my bed everyday for the last 7 years. I've also had my dog for the last 15 years. I really don't see how anyone could think it is weird.

with your animal in your bed you have a high chance of developing allergies you normally wold not have, or at leased irritations. Try not to let him/her sleep too close to your face.

That's all I can think of.

I never let my dog sleep on my bed, no it's not that I don't mind it, it's just that it makes very loud slapping noises and moves about to much which is very annoying.

I would say its fine so long as you let the dog know that you are allowing it into the bed. I have a Lab/German Shepard. He sleeps on my bed but for the first few weeks, I was constantly telling him he could get up on the bed. That is the real focus of the matter, maintaining alpha status.

OT: Dogs can learn that they are only permitted on certain furniture. My mother has two labs and they know they can lay down on the cloth covered couch and chair but the leather furniture is off-limits. It just requires constant discipline to teach them.

I have a cat that I let sleep on my bed all the time so I don't see what the problem is, I would probably let a dog sleep on there too if I had one.

not letting your dog sleep where you do shows that you are above them and you are their overlord sort of thing.
I don't let my dog sleep with me because she takes half the bed and I know I would kick her off the bed. also she has her own bed.

As long as they do not "mistake it for a human". A Dog is a dog and should be treated as such.

Silly human. You think you had a choice?
This made me really laugh. My cat sleeps in my bed regularly, especially during winter, and I often felt like he's allowing me in his bed and not the opposite. Seriously though, I love when my cat comes to my bed and he sometimes sleeps over the blanket, and sometimes goes beneath it (when it's really cold). He likes that, I don't move that much and he is good for warming me. Though, if I accidentally move a little, he gets offended and leaves.

I see nothing wrong with sleeping with your pet or treating your pet "like a human". My pet is a part of my family and I treat it as such. If someone has enough time to cook for his or her pet, why not?

I value my dog's life much more than most of my 'friends', who always sit on my bed when they come to visit.
So yeah.
Sometimes it's the dog AND the cat together on the bed, and it's the most hilarious thing ever.
especially since they were at each other's throats a few months back.

I usually let my pug sleep on my bed. Though I'm a very light sleeper, I move around a LOT, so it wasn't uncommon for him to be off by the morning. Actually, I could tell if I slept well judging by whether he was still on my bed. Sometimes I had to wake up and I'd see him standing against the side looking for a lift. That's also when I know I've knocked him off accidentally.

Having your dog sleep on your bed is the best during wintertime, though. That baby SLEEPS. Usually, my dog runs off whenever I wake up, but in the winter, it wakes up and looks around a bit when I get out of bed, then promptly goes back to sleep because its position is simply perfect.
