What's up Escapists?
Internet is stronger than ever. Today more and more people enjoy much more watching the last RWJ episode, Nostalgia Critic review or FailBlog stuff than the standard crap that TV feeds us.
Hell, how could we watch the anime we want?

So, discussion value, what is the future of Television? Is it on its last years of glory?

(Yeah, my english sucks stop laughing)

It's not, there's always new awesome shows and comedy on the TV. The small screen definately isn't on it's last legs. It'll adapt to the internet's presence and it'll be strong for years to come.

Oh, and what's RWJ? Plus, I'm fairly sure some anime is shown on TV.

Maybe TV entertainment will fuse with web entertainment... and the Universe will implode!

Well, not all anime. And with a big delay.
The worst is when (tv stations) don't purchase the whole anime and force us to watch it dubbed.

With sites dedicated to showing TV shows, TV is beginning to lose that which made it special. All we need is a way to transfer a computer's data to a massive monitor to have big parties, sports nights and movies, and TV will be officially obsolete in my book. 3D TVs are a gimmick to cling to life, HD is moving it's way to everything else, and like I said, once they have that special big-ass monitor, TV won't even be of any use for gaming consoles.

And yet there will still be f***ing advertisements... *groan*

I tend to watch a lot of tv but the only reason for that is because it's kinda like a family and friends bonding activity (You can only play video games for so long) every time my tv breaks I don't really miss it so I guess I just enjoy the internet way more.

Pretty much the entire mainstream crowd watches tv. I will always watch tv. TV is not going anywhere.

The majority of people in North America either do not know, or do not care about sites dedicated to tv shows.

I never watch my TV anymore, except for the occasional comedy panel show on Dave.

Apart from that, nope, no TV. No need for it with my computer and games consoles. It's alll the entertainment I really need. And movies are important as well, which is why I get lots of Blu Ray movies. Even more reason not to have TV.

I haven't watched TV at all in at least 3 years, unless you count the shows I download or watch.

As long as there are shows as "Two and a half men" and "that 7o's show" i will always have the need to watch TV.

But with the progression of the internets, TV has lost a lot of its appeal.. And channels such as TV3 og Viasat4 have so much commercials in them that its discusting, a simple movie about 90 mins long, they use almost 3 hours to show..

MY GOD THAT IS ANNOYING!

TV has 2 main problems.

1: Availability (of content). I want to see very specific kinds of TV-Shows/movies. They are so specific that I find them online because they are not shown in my own country (and the few that are might be several years behind schedule.)

2: Commercials. The series I "find" online have zero commercials. I hate commercials. I HATE watching ANYTHING and being interrupted. I will never, EVER go back to regular TV. Ever.

I dont think TV is dying, but I think we will see at least a Spotify-like alternative pretty soon.

I don't know about the rest of the globe, but in my house that's quite the situation. Those of us that make good use of the Internet never watch TV. The rest of the family watches reruns and recordings on the television like they're gods gift to earth.

'Nuff Said.

Actually, T.V. is getting a tad boring. I love television and it's sad to see it in such a perpetually sickly state. How many hospital shows are there currently? 57? Oh shit, that's a lot. It doesn't help that there is 1,079 reality shows.

However, I hear shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad are quite good. Modern Family is absolutely smashing.

The only shows I plan on watching this year are Chuck and The Walking Dead.

Poor, dear departed Lost. I'm really going to miss:

Jack's heavy breathing, Kate's shitty episodes, Sawyer's "Son of a *****!" trademark quote, Ben's creepiness, Hurley's obesity, Desmond's "Brotha", Locke's pointy ears, frozen donkey wheels, time travel, unexplained Walt phenomena, Vincent, Smokey and finally.....Nikki and Paulo. Good-bye, guys!

The only thing I watch on TV nowadays are cartoons, and that's only when I'm bored.
What I'm trying to say is how is watching the same reruns of spongebob over and over again more fulfilling then watching something like Zero Punctuation or Nostalgia Critic, it's funnier and I'm not force fed the same five minute commercials over and over.

I doubt it, but in my opinion most of its shit now, minus a few good shows.
