Pretty meh, really. Fights in Naruto weren't all that exciting to watch. Some rare exceptions were Rock Lee vs Gaara and 3rd Hokage vs Zombie Hokages and Orochimaru, and even those scenes had some problems.
Yeah, you've pretty much mentioned all my favourite fights in Naruto ^^
The Neji fight actually had some interesting bits and pieces, but did have a lot of blabber and it slowed down too often to be really great, which is a common thing with Naruto.
Agreed, Neji actually had an interesting backstory and way of thinking (actually, I would've liked to know more about the Hyuuga clan). It was clearly a missed opportunity when most of it was solved right after the fight in the infirmary.

Same thing with Gaara, he just became a very boring hero while as a tragic villain he worked so well. You understood why his upbringing made him such an unbalanced person.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but this question wasn't for you. I was interested in Smygskytt's opinion since he didn't think much of anime (it seemed), and I was wondering if I he could see the positives. I didn't just want an opinion.
Sorry about that, I didn't mean to budge in.

A bunch of people on MAL said this was a good fight scene but personally I don't see it what do you guys think.
Onsided, too much talking and they really needed that interior monologue to transfer him fearing death? - I suppose the target audience for this show is 13 or something...

Since Spike vs. Volaju is already here I give you Nanashi vs. Luo-Lang from Sword of the Stranger.

Ah yes. I'd forgotten about Sword of the Stanger, but it was destined to end up on this thread at some point. The music, fight choreography, and fight animation were some of its strongest qualities.
