Time travel is pretty cool.
I mean, if you guys have something to jump off of, might want to follow his delusions just to see if you can pull it off.

Sure your friend sounds crazy, but all innovative geniuses do.

Or, if you don't want to give humanity the power to fuck up the time stream just slap him a bunch of times and tell him to get over it.

Well what are you waiting for? Time travel is f***ing hard to research, get going.

oh wait...that said, when you're done you can just travel back to when you begin and give yourself the time machine. So really it's like one of the quickest things to research.

That's it! Put a reminder on your phone or something so when you develop the time machine, you'll come back and give it to yourself! No hurry.

Unless you die before you finish it, ignore the reminder, someone steals it, or you can never be bothered to research it.

And that's what I call a trainwreck of thought.

P.S. Yep, he's probably insane. Or a host for something more sinister that is trying to get you to develop time travel for it so it can steal and exploit the technology.

First off, I want to thank you for introducing me to the Regular Show. It seems pretty interesting and I was wondering if the rest of the series is just as good or if this episode is a rare gem in the series?
As someelse who watches regular I show I can say that this is par of the course for regular show and other than perhaps repetitious story structure the quality of the show is pretty high. In fact it one an emmy this year if that sort of thing counts as a credential to ya

Smile and play along until his back is turned, then shoot him with an elephant tranquilizer and call the lads in the white coats. He's obviously gone 'round the bend.

Explain to him that kidnapping himself would have happened to himself already if it was possible.
Your logic is unassailable, and your avatar's moustach is indeed manly.

Have him sleep in one day and then drop a jet engine on his bed.
But, wouldn't he just die in the end?

Here's what you do.
1. Get a microwave, a big one, with a cell phone plug in.
2. Plug in his phone.
3. Turn the microwave on for the number of hours he wants it to go back.
4. Send him a text message telling him to not fuck up
5. Get his sex changed.
6. ?????
7. Profit

So today me and this guy are talking. He brings up regular show. Specifically this episode.
And lo and behold; He brings up time travel. Why? Cuz he says he wants to go back to the past and change some situation right now regarding an ex-girlfriend. Then he keeps telling me now he want to go back to the past and and kidnap his past self.I SHIT YOU PEOPLE NOT. And he's so adamant in that delusion. I tell him he needs to let her go, he keeps saying he needs to go back. He even says that him and I need to research time travel. I'm like: ARE YOU FOR REAL RIGHT NOW? And then keeps telling me that I don't understand his situation. What I understood is that he is losing it. So your toughts?

OT: Theoretical time travel rarely works in our favor. There is a possibility that no matter what he tries to do, the past is the past and the events cannot be changed, no matter how hard he tries. If he somehow manages to change the past, his own timeline would remain unchanged or he would just create a paradox which will cause an equally devastating event to occur in his life to compensate for keeping his girlfriend.

Just let dreamers be dreamers and let him be some other dimension's problem.
Regular Show is pretty good I recomend checking out more episodes
also on topic I think he may have realized he had something good and lost it which sucks but you just gotta roll with the flow you know maybe it was a stupid choice he did

Tell him, things in life end, that is the nature of things, move on, it will feel better, find another woman, or several women, eventually you either give up on the whole thing, and find solace and your own version of happiness alone, or you find the right one, but if it ended she wasn't the right one, and there's someone better out there, and that it's understandable that it doesn't feel like that right now, but pain is in the moment, and is meant to be left behind, look at childbirth, look at all of the stupid painful shit you do as a kid, you get over the pain and live on, it's how life works.

Hell, sometimes the only thing telling me I'm alive and not in a coma or something is pain, loads of pain, life is kinda all about overcoming problems fighting through the pain(emotional and physical) and growing from it.

How old is your friend?

Time Travel is currently not possible right now, and I sincerely doubt humans will ever create the ability to go back into the past. Travelling to the future, maybe, but the past? We'll probably never be able to do that.

If your friend's time travel delusions persist for more than 48 hours, consult a physician.
