As shocking as it may sounds (as as far as other gamers i know i seem to be the only one) i have yet to even try any versoin on World of Warcraft. and my concern is that although it may be very good, is it really worth paying for, even after i buy it? i dont fancy the idea of having to pay for a game i've already baught.. especially if i end up not liking it.. oh and i work alot so i dont have much time to play, and i feel i wouldnt really be getting what i paid for if i dont use it that often,,,

I say yes, it's worth it. When I have a computer that it will work on again, I think I'll renew my subscription. This stupid laptop is dying slowly and can't do anything any more.

I don't miss it massively, but it can be a lot of fun. Especially when you do something awesome and beat another player when it looked like you would die.

Yes, it is worth it.

There is a free 10day trial. If you like it, subscribe, if not then don't.

I'm having a blast with WoW.

in my experience, this became the most boring game out there quite quickly.
"but it really opens up when you get to the high levels" they said.
"so i have to pay to play a game i dont like now so that i might like it later?" i said

i havent played it since

Is this supposed to be one of those "clever" troll threads I've heard about?

The best thing to do is try the ten days and mess around with different classes and races. It'll seem pretty dull at first but once you get into it you'll find loads of things to do apart from just questing. There's also a new expansion in the works which will change the old content. If you can be patient then maybe wait until then.

If you usually play a lot, you'll fly through games, and you'll probably need a new game every month. New games cost atleast $40, while WoW costs less than $10 a month, you could look at it as an investment.

By playing WoW for a year you would effectively have saved (30x12)$360 on games, that's not accounting for eventual older games you might buy.

I have a free 14 day trial that came with my StarCraft Battle Chest I bought the other night (I had a dodgy pirated version that would never work, and seeing as I really enjoyed it when it would work I decided to buy it) so I'm waiting till we get better internet before I activate it.

You can try for free, and I remember reading recently the original version of wow is 5 bucks now. Not much to lose really.

Sure, it's a fun game. Best played with friends however or it can quickly become tiresome, half the joy I found was wandering with friends and bragging about our exploits in the game. Plus having either an experienced friend to help you out at first or an ally to give aid in the earlier areas as you both figure out the game mechanics would be extremely useful for a new player.

Doubt I ever would have gotten past level 30 if I hadn't had two friends with me at the time also exploring and leveling up with me.
