I would love to slap george lucas in the face.

His ideas would have ruined the original trilology.

People actuqally said, "No George, you're a moron" back when he was making A New Hope.

Don't go on an internet gaming forum and not think that your analogy didn't work at all.

Sure it exists, but as a universe is only how you imagine it, you can edit it to your hearts' content. It's not real. There's no real facts involved. If I was to say Oblivion wasn't part of TES, I am in my right. I just give up the ability to have intelligent conversation with others regarding hte entire perceived series.

I hated it when all the Sheik fangirl tards were argueing that SSBM was not canon when saying that Sheik was a girl. This ruined all there shitty Link X Sheik homoerotic fanfic fantasies. God damn I hate fangirls.
Um... wait. People thought Sheik- a woman dressed up like, well, a less feminine woman- was male? She's PRINCESS Zelda in disguise. And wouldn't the shipping be easier if Link and his paramour were of opposite gender?

I don't get fandom.

On topic: Everything that exists exists.
Yeah, the idea was that Zelda turned herself into a man. Their argument? That no woman looks that masculine when she's trying to be a man... yes... it was that dumb.

Ummm, in all the debates I've got into, no-one has mentioned the absence of something they don't like.

To be fair, you must be talking with some idiots; "I hate the game and it doesn't exist" I'll allow you to find the contradiction there.

This is in part response to the topic about which series you existence and part response to reading the comments on the Mass Effect or Fallout series. Just because you didn't like something doesn't mean you can deny it's existence. I don't like Half-Life. I admit is exists. I don't like Bioshock. I admit it exists. The same goes for saying it doesn't count in it's series. Fallout 3 is part of the Fallout series. The star wars new trilogy is part of the Star Wars canon. By saying it doesn't is slapping George Lucas in the face, if you really like star wars that much why slap George Lucas?
You don't like Half Life or Bioshock?? What's wrong with you???;P

/kidding

Anyways there's a difference between not liking FO3 and not liking the SW prequels, FO3 was a great game FO1&2 nerds didn't like because it wasn't boring...lol

No one likes the prequels because...wait?!?!?...do I really even need to say what's been said a 1000x.

Here watch this:

because he is selling us fans out for newer ones. Look at the new clone wars series. The new series is ENTIRELY childish and is an insult to fans. I hate how they made the clone wars look like a Saturday morning kids show.

Ok, I get what you're saying... BUT, Inidiana Jones 4 doesn't deserve to be part of such a great series. I would also like an hour and a half of my life back please.

I still don't see whats so bad about it. People complain about the Aliens but they never complained about all the Supernatural, Occult and Biblical stuff from the first 3?
How bout the fact that he survived a nuclear explosion, followed by getting rolled down a hill at break-neck speeds by hiding in a fridge. I'm sorry, no.
Also, I don't like Shia LeBeouf.
The plot was pretty damn predictable too

Fridge back in the day could do what happened in the film.
I agree that Shia LeBeouf needs to be assassinated already, but it still wasn't that bad.
Hmm... Not sure about that. Even if it could, Indy would have taken at least some damage.

And now to ruin my credibility among Star Wars fans:

I actually liked the prequels. The only thing that really annoyed me was Jar-Jar.
Take 70 minutes and watch this when you get a chance. I'd find it hard to believe that it won't justifiably taint your perception of the prequels.

You too bud. I wasn't totally offended by the new trilogy as much as others were, but after watching these videos, I don't see how I could have been entertained by them ever.

Say what you will, in my plane of existence the Alien series is made up of two great movies and a third decent one.

That's all.

And Ripley's dead.

While I agree with this, there is one subject I want to mention.

DRAGONBALL! By Akira Toriyama.

While I liked Dragonball and Dragonball Z, but GT? I do NOT consider GT to be canon. (Or the live-action fuckfest that was Dragonball Evolution.)

I beileve it is not canon because Mr. Toriyama had nothing to do with GT or Evolution, therefore it has as much relevance as Dragonball AF.

Because I love Star Wars, not George Lucas.

I'd like to be an elitist. Where do I sign up?

I love Star Wars a lot and precisely because I love I'm very picky as to what I count as canon. So for me it is: the original 3 films, the 5 first Zahn books, Dark Forces 1+2 and KotOR 1+2. Everything else, while existing, does not count as Star Wars for me. If that makes me elitist then I'm perfectly fine with that. Besides elitist is hardly a bad thing to be.

I don't think that ignoring the prequels is slapping George Lucas in the face. If anything he slapped me in the face for making them. My point is, it's none of his buisines (or anyone elses for that matter) what I count as canon and it has zero impact on them.

However I do think that Lucas would have benefited from someone stepping up to him and telling him he was an idiot during the production of the sequels. Even if he is the creator he needs to understand that not every little thing he thinks up is pure gold. In this case most of the prequel trilogy. They would have benefited immensely from someone holding him back and a more focused vision.

Star Wars is hardly the only thing I pick and chose from. I don't view any Warcraft games past Beyond the Black Gate as being part of Warcraft. I like it that way but I doubt the trillions of WoW players will lose sleep over it.

I also am very picky with Fallout. Point in case, while I own and have completed Fallout 3 I don't consider it a Fallout game proper. That's really only a problem for me.

Are you saying that I should love Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance just because I think Baldur's Gate to is one of the best games ever made?

Or take Mass Effect. Or rather the novel(s). If it's not in the game I don't consider it to be part of the Mass Effect universe.

Anyway: who wants to join me in my elitist ivory tower? There's plenty of room and comfy chairs.

Well... if Emo Children hate everything, doesn't that mean that nothing exists to them?

Calumon: I love playing, so that exists, so Let's Play already!

Sorry that was too easy. Now I'll probably get sued for assaulting George Lucas.

I agree with TeragRunner. Just because the creator says "This is canon (therefore it's good)", doesn't mean that they (or any one) can stop me from saying "This blows monkey chunks" in a civil manner.

Fine it exists. Now watch me as I turn my back (with my hard earned cash) and ignore as if it doesn't.

Ed: Added some clarification.

I think I know what to get at here to properly express my view. I will acknowledge a game for what it is, either as a new IP, fan game, casual game, sequel, prequel.... what have you. But with that being said, it doesn't mean I'll enjoy it. Sure, this is something new but it's not my taste or it's a fan game and I'm just not a fan yet. I give credit where credit is due. If you create a game and a fan base is established, even though I might not like it, I won't blow it off because I have a bias.

By the time I played Half Life it was nothing new and I never played the first so the story made no sense, and Bioshock was nothing but a frantic search for health items.
