That bit in the new King Kong movie when a guy is slowly devoured by a giant worm/leech thing. I know it's something totally unrealistic and there's no chance of something like it ever happening to me, but... Jesus, that gave me nightmares, even at my age.
I thought I was the only one freaked out by that, so damn creepy. I'd rather get eaten by one of the dinosaurs than that.... thing.

Just in case you forgot what they look like....
Aah, Satan's penis. What would the world be without you.

OT. My girlfriend's fingers near my belly button. She poked her finger in there once and it still haunts me.

Ostriches. They are literally real live raptors (TAXONOMY JOKE I THINK!). But really, they already have a death claw...throw some teeth on one of those and it's a velociraptor.

COCKROACHES!!! I think I may have an actual phobia for them. It's not uncommon but you have no idea the extent of my fear of those scurrying little bastards, I actually lose sleep if I find one in my house even after I've killed it.

I read The Day of The Triffids, and ok, I know they're only plants, but seriously, I was too scared to reach out and turn off the light, in case the triffids underneath my high bed saw me moving and killed me.

Having said that, I can't wait until there's a decent film version out...
Oh dear you just reminded me of the biggest fright of my life.

I had just finished the book, in bed turned, out the light and started to wonder what it was like being blind. Anyway, it was pitch black and I started getting a bit paranoid, like maybe I was blind? So I reached for the light and turned it on, [i/]and nothing happened[/i]! Turns out I'd turned it off just before a power-cut and it didn't turn back on again! Terrified me.
Justified fear! Thing is, the triffids really, really shouldn't be that scary. I mean, they're plants. Which happen to walk. They could be defeated by a large gang of hungry snails. And yet there's something terrifying about them...

Also, I saw Frank the Rabbit out of the corner of my eye for months after watching Donnie Darko... Late at night, that was not fun.

SEARCH BAR APPROVED! Now that we have that out of the way...

Basically what event in a book, game, song, movie or even regular everyday life make you scared or just creeped/weirded out? For me it's Bioshock. Everything about it scares me for some reason. From the enemies, little sisters, even to those flickering lights, they scare me so much, and I don't know why.

And spiders. Oh god, how I hate those spiders.
Its ok man Im scared of spiders too, let it out dude

Missing No. I refuse to get anywhere CLOSE to that sonofabitch.
Also, that trailer for The Fantastic Mr. Fox. That hits smack-dab in the middle of the Uncanny Valley for me.

I used to have an insane fear of bugs. I'd see a fly in my room and have to call a family member to kill it. Eventually this drove me to a point of insanity around bugs, so at one point I grabbed a bat nearby and hit a hornet that landed on the ground after flying near me as hard as I could.. Poor thing.. But yea that fear was replaced with a need to kill all insects.

[small]You may have escaped me this time Waspocolus, but I will find you.. I swear it..[/small]

Slightly more than everything else involving the ocean, jellyfish. Those SOBs aren't even ALIVE, for crying out loud! Also, the story Pickmann's Model, by HP Lovecraft. Not that scary, unless you compare it to Smile.jpg.

Madonna makes me afraid. So very afraid and ANGRY all at once. It's very confusing.
And that.
Thanks for that Ace_of_something. She's the same age as my mum, and if my mum was doing what she does...I'd disown her.

2 Films; Ghost Ship and Event Horizon, even at 23 I have the lights on for those two.

Oh and Fallout 3/Oblivion, being snuck up on by something that screams as it attacks, I have fallen out of my seat a few times late at night because I jumped so damned high.

Wow, I was also very scared at this scene.

Especially cause I'm an insectophobe (new word, children.).

IRL: Big spiders. I love little spiders, I can play with them all day long, but rain spiders fucking terrify me. I go into primal survival instinct mode the moment I even sort of half-think I see one. I go into spasm. Seriously, they scare the shit out of me. (To this day, I'm convinced that insects, arachnids, and cephalopods are not, in fact, native to this plane.)
