Italy: the official thread!

The Italians have a saying, Lemon. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. And although they've never won a war or mass-produced a decent car, in this area they are correct.

Italy .. Well. From what I've heard it seems like a almost poor country.

Might I know where you heard such things?

First of all. No offence if any was taken.
I don't know .. It's jsut .. From every picture I've seen it's just those stone-buildings and dirty roads and those kids with dirty clothes running around. Now I'm sure this is all totally wrong. But it's just my impression. WHat I think of when I see the word "Italy" =P

Fair enough, although that is just the poorer regions. Most of it is on par with any other important European nation and we are part of the G8 so...

There is so much "Sick man of Europe" -talk going on about Italy so it's no wonder that people get such impression. Also the garbage problems that Napoli faced, didn't help one bit.

Awesome cars and shitty drivers do NOT make a good mix. There was this one time when were in a hire car in Todi, and some idiot pulled around the corner reversing at, about 15 KPH and he crashed into us when we were parked.

Still, great country that I ahve a quarter of in me

Yeah, the Naples thing was pretty bad. We are kinda the sick man of Western Europe.
