Joking aside, that's one of my biggest complaints about MP3. It feels like watching
Lethal Weapon 1, then
Lethal Weapon 2, but then for some strange reason jumping to the last 20 minutes of
Lethal Weapon 4. Riggs and Murtaugh standing there, out of breath, literally saying "we're both too old for this shit..." No build up, no foreshadowing, no pacing.
I mean sure, for Max it has been a rough few years. For the player it's been, at best, an hour of install plus updates. Then the first two levels really shit the bed by slapping on a time limit. Even the blind cave salamander level from
Earth Worm Jim 2 didn't feel so jarring, since the devs at Shiny drop you into a large, safe starting area to get used to the new controls.
