It's ok to be angry about capitalism

People could've switched money out of stocks if they really wanted to, there was like 6 months at least warning.
There was indeed 6 months of warning or more.

Of course, during that 6 months, you said it wouldn't happen.

Don't worry, price rises will affect us all.

You were adamant they didn't need to.
I'm not very worried.

I would have if I was retiring just in case. I don't overly trust the stock market when it's value is based on how people feel vs how good the company is. I'll probably switch to bonds regardless when I'm within a few years. I currently have more money in a CD than my 401Ks.

Of course you're not. You care solely about what affects you personally, not anyone else; and you're still under the impression that tariffs on things you like will magically leave prices unaffected.

Yes! Because prices don't affect me nor have I ever cared about things that don't affect me!!! 🙄

Oh, prices will and do affect you. But you're "not worried" presumably because you naively believe blanket tariffs won't result in price rises for things you personally care about.

This part is unironically true.
Well, eggs did never go up for me, just had an omelette with 2 sides at the restaurant last night for $6.

You obviously only selectively read what I say then.

It could be 200 people, and the life of the CEO of UHC would still be viewed as being worth more to the US legal system than all 200 of those people.
Sort of.

Random nutjobs murdering lots of proles are just nutjobs: whilst tragic, they don't generally imperil the sociopolitical fabric of the state. Coolly and calculatedly killing an executive though... that can't help but represent an act of resistance or revolution. A statement of protest against capitalism and the ruling classes. Then take a look at the sympathy and support shown for the killer by so many. The authorities absolutely have heard the whisper of revolt and disorder, and would act to stamp it out with a show of force.

It's a joke...
It's difficult to tell, when the joke is identical to the genuine argument.

Of course, I'd credit your powers of self-awareness a great deal more if you'd acknowledge the blanket tariffs. You said they wouldn't happen, and to tell you when they happened. They happened. Didn't they?

You cut out the other part of my post obviously...

The tariffs technically didn't happen yet. I don't have a problem admitting when I'm wrong, I didn't think they would happen.

  • Steriling thinks the price hike is bullshit as always.
  • It's not a good price when a lot of these people can't afford it or living in a housing crisis. Those expensive games look less worth it, when you need to put gas and food on a table.
  • This gives the excuse Ay. Companies need to raise the prices either further on their gains. Or just salvating at the thought of GTA6 being $100. Which will lead so worse games and games that are not intended to know having even less replay value or content cut off for more cash.
  • She's tired of the inflation and tariff excuse. Yes, games were expensive back then, but those were under different circumstances. Where there was more money to go around things got cheaper over time quickly compared to now. Point being most cities, companies in the executive class were going to do that anyway. Regardless of the tariffs or not. They'll just happily hide behind those excuses.
  • Sterling once again says it's okay to pirate Nintendo games.

Actually, a number of them have already come into effect, such as the "baseline" 10%.
